History
Hoshigakure originally relied on the Star to train shinobi in the Mysterious Peacock Method. Prolonged training with it harmed users and was linked to sudden deaths. The village was isolated and poor when Hayato arrived to negotiate with the Third Hoshikage 229 231 236. Hayato offered Gelel Stones as a way to counter the Star’s effects. After hearing his plans for the villagers, the Third Hoshikage agreed to hand over leadership and publicly named him the Fourth Hoshikage 231 235 236.
Hayato distributed Gelel Stones to residents and began rebuilding at a new site. He brought in researchers, created temporary wooden housing with Wood Release, and prioritized roads as the basis for further construction 239 244 245 259. The original residents later left their old village on foot, taking the Star with them. Fifty-three Kaguya clan members joined the migration 258.
A year and a half after the new village’s establishment, it had a Ninja Academy and a residential district of high-rises. Hayato sought more shinobi and techniques by bringing clans from the Land of Fields to Hoshigakure; he used Lesser Kotoamatsukami to compel their leaders to relocate 277.
