"Teacher Mu, you shouldn't get involved in such a sensitive topic; it won't do you any good." Lin Yao interrupted Mu Jin at this moment, then rose to his feet and spoke to her.
"Ye Guyi is still waiting for me, so I'm going to go eat and rest now."
Mu Jin nodded. Lin Yao didn't actually intend to wait for her to tell him he could leave; after finishing that sentence, he turned and began walking outside.
Mu Jin naturally didn't stop Lin Yao, instead watching as he and Ye Guyi walked out of the Soul Fighting Zone together.
As soon as they stepped out of the Soul Fighting Zone, Ye Guyi asked Lin Yao curiously, "Brother Yao, what were you just saying to Teacher Mu?"
Lin Yao smiled. He didn't mention the sensitive latter half of the conversation, focusing instead on the beginning as he told Ye Guyi, "Actually, Teacher Mu was just defending her own infatuation, so she wanted me to imagine how I would react if you were obsessed with someone else."
Ye Guyi replied to Lin Yao with a serious expression, "I am not that kind of fickle woman!"
Lin Yao smiled and nodded, then said to Ye Guyi, "I didn't say you were. I told Teacher Mu very confidently that you wouldn't become obsessed with anyone else, and that you aren't the type of woman who lacks self-respect."
Ye Guyi nodded, satisfied, and then said to Lin Yao, "That goes without saying. I'm certainly not the kind of cheap woman who would have a boyfriend while still maintaining sensitive relationships with male disciples or 'male best friends'."
Lin Yao laughed and poked Ye Guyi's cheek, saying, "We're only twelve; where would you even get a boyfriend?"
Ye Guyi only then realized what she had said in the first half of her sentence. Her face turned bright red, and she abruptly drew her Angel Holy Sword, shouting, "I think you've really let your evil nature show! Today, this young lady is going to use her Holy Sword to slay an evil dragon!"
Lin Yao laughed, spread his Ender Dragon wings, and crooked his finger at Ye Guyi, saying, "That depends on whether you have the ability to do it. Come and catch me."
Two figures, one golden and one dark, chased each other toward the Shrek Academy cafeteria, leaving behind a trail of joyful energy.
Life is dreary, and if you want to find relief, you have to rely on your own powerful internal drive to regulate yourself.
That afternoon, Lin Yao glanced at the spectator stands. Zhou Yi hadn't shown up at all, while Mu Jin stood at the front of the stage, her gaze fixed in his direction with a smile on her lips. Clearly, she was happy to be watching her "seed" team.
Before the match began, Lin Yao grabbed a well-informed student from another class who wasn't in his division and asked, "How come Teacher Zhou Yi isn't here?"
The student knew about what had happened between Lin Yao, Zhou Yi, and Fan Yu, but he still shrugged and said, "There's only one possibility for an absence on an occasion like this, Brother Yao. It means Zhou Yi's Class One has been completely wiped out. Not a single one of them advanced."
Lin Yao couldn't help but twitch his mouth. "Are they really that trash?"
The student smiled and replied to Lin Yao, "It's not that they're trash, it's just pure bad luck. They had five teams in total; one ran into you, three others ran into teams led by Soul Elders, and the last one ran into a team where everyone was at the two-ring level. Only that last match could be considered a narrow defeat; the others were crushing losses."
Just as Lin Yao was about to reply, the referee's voice rang out: "You two students over there, don't chat across different competition zones! Get back to your respective positions quickly, the match is about to start!"
"Brother, good luck," Lin Yao patted the person who had given him the information, then turned and walked into his own zone.
"I don't need to offer you any extra wishes, Brother Yao. After all, my well-wishes to you are merely stating an insignificant fact." The student smiled at Lin Yao, cupped his hands in a salute, and turned to head toward his own zone.
In the subsequent matches, Lin Yao's team swept through like a gale, securing one crushing victory after another.
With Huo Yuhao's team gone, Lin Yao had no further interest in the ranking matches of this freshman assessment.
Lin Yao had also heard rumors about what happened to Huo Yuhao's team later on.
Zhou Yi had made it clear before the start of the tournament that if they didn't achieve the championship, they would be subjected to very harsh training.
Although Zhou Yi knew in her heart that losing to Lin Yao and his team wasn't Huo Yuhao's fault, the threat was still carried out. One could only say that Zhou Yi never failed to disappoint when it came to being unreasonable.
Huo Yuhao's grilled fish stall hadn't opened for several days in a row. It was said that after the first day of training, his entire back was covered in blood from the iron vests and straps they were forced to wear, and his face had turned several shades paler.
The final match was, without suspense, Lin Yao versus Dai Huabin and his team.
Facing Lin Yao's Ender Dragon, Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu didn't even have the chance to unleash their martial soul fusion skill before being suppressed by Lin Yao's absolute air superiority.
Just as Dai Huabin finally broke free from the containment of Lin Yao's dragon breath and attempted to get close to Zhu Lu to complete their fusion, Lin Yao used his high mobility to snatch Zhu Lu up into the sky.
As a feline, a creature of the land, entering the domain of the sky made Zhu Lu panic immediately, and Dai Huabin stared nervously at the sky.
Lin Yao spat a mouthful of dragon breath onto his hand and waved it back and forth in front of Zhu Lu's face.
"Surrender? If you don't, she's going to be disfigured, you know," Lin Yao said with a smile.
Watching Zhu Lu's face turn increasingly pale, Dai Huabin clenched his fists until they bled, gritting his teeth as he roared at Lin Yao, "Let her go! I concede!"
"How truly touching. Fine, catch her." Lin Yao said, reaching out to toss Zhu Lu toward Dai Huabin.
Dai Huabin hurriedly reached out to catch Zhu Lu, looking at her with concern as he asked, "Are you alright?!"
Zhu Lu clutched the corner of Dai Huabin's clothes, two lines of tears streaming down her face. She stammered, "Huabin, I... I held you back!"
Dai Huabin shook his head and comforted her, saying, "It's okay, it's okay. Him doing this just proves we won, because he didn't have the courage to face our martial soul fusion skill head-on."
Lin Yao replied to Dai Huabin with complete indifference, "Yes, yes, keep thinking that. A person's greatest strength is the ability to regulate their emotions through all sorts of excuses. Only those who don't internalize their stress live long lives."
Du Weilun stepped in to control the situation, saying, "Alright, since the outcome has been decided without either side being injured, this should be a joyous occasion. Both sides should stop attacking each other at this juncture and avoid unnecessary disputes."
Seeing that both sides had stopped talking and were looking at him, Du Weilun continued...
