The fog was thick as several Land of Water ninja emerged from within it. The water shifted slightly, and a quietly formed whirlpool trapped the small boat in place.
Holding out the scroll in his hand, the voice beneath the mask was cold and calm, making it impossible to discern the expression behind it.
"From Konoha of the Land of Fire. I have come to conclude a peace treaty."
The moment those words left his mouth, the Mist Village ninja before him froze. Then their faces twisted as they glared viciously at Hua Yue on the lone boat, gritting their teeth.
"A peace treaty? You Konoha killed so many of us, and now you say the war is over just because you say so?"
"Enough talking to him. Kill him right here! When people from the village arrive, we'll say we never saw him. Today, we'll take this bastard's life as interest for my brother!"
"This war won't end so easily! The families, relatives, and friends you Konoha destroyed—this hatred cannot be settled with some simple ceasefire agreement, brat!"
The enraged border guards were about to attack when a cold laugh interrupted them.
"Heh heh, have you really thought this through? If you attack me here, Konoha will inevitably regard Mist Village as an enemy. It would also give me a reason to launch a direct assault on Kirigakure."

Though it was clearly a soft laugh, an icy chill shot from their tailbones straight to the crowns of their heads. That terrifying killing intent and ominous
