Background / History
Qi engineered the circumstances surrounding the Golden Balance long before Lynn encountered him. Maple Tree, once a top genius and Lord-level existence of the Nature Divine Dynasty, willingly entered Qi's game in pursuit of the Balance; Qi's scheme ultimately seized Maple Tree's physical body and left him trapped in Emerald Island Forest 176.
While occupying Maple Tree's body, Qi confronted Lynn and Ald within the otherworldly space. He used the Spirit of the Blue Sky to suppress them, then later controlled Sonia through a broken bell-like object 119. After Sonia became an artifact spirit through the properties of [Scenery], Qi used her as a medium to contact Lynn directly 163.
Qi and Lynn entered a contract under the Golden Balance. Qi promised to increase Lynn's spiritual power and charge the Spirit of the Blue Sky, while gradually introducing him to the Civilization of Gods, faith power, the Weave, and the nature of divine authority 164 165. The agreement was later revealed to be an inheritance: Lynn was meant to succeed Qi's civilization and eventually assume control of the Golden Balance 197 208.
Qi's broader objective appears to have involved revenge against the Civilization of Gods, though Lynn could only speculate on this from Maple Tree's account 176. He eventually used the Balance of Supreme Eternity against the Goddess of the Weave, trapping her and her authority in a divine confrontation 201.
When Lynn deciphered the contract and seized the Golden Balance, Qi relinquished his authority. He remained behind to delay the Goddess of the Weave, allowing Lynn and the Balance to escape the Outer Plane 208.
