Legendary Reward
Mr. Granger came out from inside. "Don't be nervous. Hermione said you use your brain too much and love sweets, which makes your teeth prone to problems. Let me take a look."
Mr. Granger smiled "kindly": "After we finish the cake, let's check your teeth first. Don't worry, I'll be very gentle, it won't hurt at all."
Tom's smile froze instantly as he looked at the gleaming silver dental tools on the counter. He inwardly groaned, "This is blatant torture!"
"If I'd known, I shouldn't have accepted this 'thank you' in the first place," Hermione thought with a sly smile, then leaned close to Tom's ear and whispered a teasing remark.
"I told you my dad's gratitude was special, but you didn't believe me. Now you're scared?"
Tom glared at her irritably, then forced himself to sit down and stuffed a small piece of cake into his mouth.
Okay, I'll eat something sweet first, otherwise my tooth will hurt and I won't be able to eat the cake.
After finishing the cake, Tom lay back in the chair, opened his mouth, and let Mr. Granger tinker with the instruments inside.
"Your teeth are in very good condition, no cavities, and your gums are healthy." Mr. Granger put down his instruments and took off his mask.
"However, the gaps between a few teeth are a bit narrow, which may affect the growth of wisdom teeth later. It is recommended to have a check-up every six months."
"Okay, thank you."
After finally getting through the examination, Tom sat up, clutching his cheek, his face pale.
Hermione laughed so hard she couldn't stand up straight, "Haha, I told you it would hurt, but you were still being stubborn."
"What are you laughing at? If you laugh again, I won't take you to the Muggle world for some good food next time," Tom said irritably, his cheeks puffed out like a bullied little hamster.
Mrs. Granger came in from outside. "Tom, your uncle and I are going shopping this afternoon. Would you and Hermione like to come along? We'll buy you some new clothes while we're at it."
"Yes, yes!" Hermione immediately raised her hand, her eyes shining, and turned to look at Tom.
"Tom, you should come too. The new Muggle clothes are so nice, much better than the wizard's robes."
Tom politely declined and made an appointment with Hermione to go shopping together again next time.
Tom returned home and entered his Study Space, where Gellert Grindelwald was pacing back and forth in the Meditation Hut, his expression somewhere between excitement and agitation.
"Have you got an idea?"
Gellert Grindelwald nodded, then shook his head. "I have an idea, but it's incomplete."
Gellert Grindelwald picked up a twig and drew a simple diagram on the ground. "The essence of the flight spell isn't making the body fly, it's making magic carry the body."
"The challenge lies in sustained output and directional control; existing flight methods—broom, Apparition, and Portkey— each have their limitations."
"Therefore, we need to create a new way of flying, where magic forms a thin film outside the body that conforms to the body's curves."
"It can reduce air resistance and provide lift. The control method is not by hands and feet, but by will. Wherever you want to fly, the magic will push you there."
Tom stared at the simple diagram on the ground, and a word popped into his head. "Iron Man?"
Gellert Grindelwald paused for a moment. "What hero?"
"It's nothing. Please continue."
"The specific technical details still need to be worked out, but the direction is right. Give me a few days, and Andros and I will give you a test flight plan."
Tom nodded. "Okay, I'll activate Supernatural Mode for you."
Gellert Grindelwald laughed. "You've finally been generous this time, kid."
"I've always been very generous," Tom retorted seriously.
Andros gave a soft hum.
Tom pretended not to hear, and two days later, Tom finally made up his mind to try his luck in the legendary lottery.
It wasn't because he was in a good mood; it was because he couldn't wait any longer, as the flying spell hadn't been broken.
Gellert Grindelwald said it would take a few more days, but he wasn't sure if it would actually be done in the end.
He needs a shot in the arm.
At two o'clock the next morning, Tom slipped out of the Wool's Orphanage and Apparition to a park on the outskirts of the city.
A few stray cats were rummaging through things near a trash can. He casually cast a Banishing Charm, and the cats ran away, leaving him alone in the park.
"System, use a legendary lottery draw opportunity."
[Legendary draw chance used, drawing in progress...]
A burst of golden light erupted, spreading across the sky and bathing the entire park in golden light.
Tom's eyes were glared so badly he couldn't open them, and he instinctively raised his hand to shield his face. Then he felt a weight on his hand, as if someone had stuffed something into it.
As the golden light faded, Tom looked down and saw a pitted, uneven thing in his hand—it was an egg!
It was a size larger than his fist, with strange patterns on its surface. Before he could even get a good look at it, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his hand, which was naturally endowed with the talent of having copper skin and iron bones.
Blood beads seeped out, his blood seeping into the eggshell, as if being greedily sucked by something, and "crack," the eggshell shattered.
An immense pressure surged out from the crack, and Tom felt a tightness in his chest, his breath catching in his throat.
But that feeling vanished in less than two seconds, replaced by a warm, intimate sense of kinship.
Tom didn't feel anything, but most of the animals in London were in an uproar.
Wild cats arched their backs and hissed, pet dogs barked wildly, and even the lions and tigers in the zoo became agitated.
The noise woke up most of the sleeping London, throwing the whole city into chaos.
Tom paid no attention to any of that; all his attention was focused on the little thing that had just emerged from the egg.
It has a black head with two pointed horns on top, and strange patterns on the horns.
A pair of big, wet, curious eyes stared at him. Then, it laboriously poked a bit of its body out of the eggshell and affectionately rubbed against Tom's palm.
Tom stared at it intently, his tone unusually serious. "A black caterpillar?"
"Squeak--!"
The little guy immediately bristled, frantically twisting his tiny body, wagging his tail angrily, and letting out a sharp, urgent cry.
He looked as if he had been extremely offended, and he was swearing.
Tom quickly rubbed its head. "Don't be angry, don't be angry, I was just kidding. Of course I know you're Rayquaza, and Shiny Rayquaza."
The little guy then proudly raised his head and began to eat his own eggshell in small bites, enjoying it immensely.
Tom looked at it, his heart filled with mixed emotions. Rayquaza! That's the Sky Dominator of the Hoenn in Pokémon.
He thrashed Primal Kyogre and the flightless Groudon, battled the Hoopa Unbound, and his Shiny Rayquaza Mega Evolved on its own, dominating seven opponents in a single battle. This completely redefined his understanding of legendary Pokémon.
It ranks among the top three in combat power among all the mythical beasts, not to mention it's a black, shiny version with extraordinary aptitude.
With this little guy around, once it grows up, I can finally relax completely. Albus Dumbledore a respectful title; calling him Dumbledore will be much more appropriate.
