Usachi
Having Rayquaza as a pet is way more prestigious than Albus Dumbledore's phoenix!
He's Slytherin, so having a dragon as a partner is perfectly natural and makes no sense whatsoever.
Rayquaza quickly devoured the eggshell, let out two satisfied chirps, then slithered into Tom's arms like a snake, closed its eyes, and fell into a deep sleep, its little tail wagging occasionally.
Tom snapped out of his reverie, smiled, and shook his head; he was thinking too far ahead.
Rayquaza has just been born, and it's unknown how long it will take for it to benefit from the power of dragons; for now, it still has to rely on itself.
The next morning, Tom woke up feeling damp.
Looking up, he saw that Rayquaza had woken up at some point and was licking his face with its tongue.
When Tom opened his eyes, the little guy let out two soft whimpers and kept rubbing his head against Tom's palm, being incredibly clingy.
"You little rascal, can't you let me get a good night's sleep?" Tom said, rubbing its head in annoyance.
Rayquaza wasn't afraid at all and continued to run wild.
"I can't keep calling you Rayquaza, and I can't keep calling you 'little guy,' you'll grow up someday."
Tom stroked his chin, pondering a name, when suddenly another question popped into his head, "Are you a younger brother or a younger sister?"
He picked up Rayquaza, which was wriggling like an eel, and looked it over from left to right. However, discerning the gender of a Pokémon was beyond his capabilities.
Finally, it was through telepathy, with the little one sending him intermittent messages, that he realized what was happening.
"Oh, it's a little girl." Tom smiled and gently tapped its little head with his fingertip.
"From now on, I'll call you Usachi. It's very fitting since you're all black."
Rayquaza tilted its head, seemingly having no objection to the name, and then snuggled back into his arms.
"Come on, I'll take you to see your sister and aunt."
Tom went to the bedside, took a box the size of a business card holder out of his pocket, and placed it on the ground. As soon as it touched the ground, the box suddenly grew larger.
He opened the lid and crawled inside; this was his own Riddle version of Newt Scamander's suitcase.
The space was larger than expected, enough to fill one and a half Quidditch Pitch, and he even transplanted Forbidden Forest vegetation and trees into it.
At the center of the space is a pool the size of a standard swimming pool, the water of which has been enchanted, making it clean and hygienic.
Normally, with such a huge additional space, the box, as a container, cannot be easily Transfiguration.
But Tom uses the finest Dragon Hide and bones, making it extremely resistant to pressure. It's as small as a card case, making it very easy to carry.
Tom carried Usachi into the suitcase, where the three unicorns were enjoying the sunshine streaming in from outside.
But as they approached, they stood up in alarm, looking fearfully at the little dragon in Tom's arms.
Even after Tom explained it to them and then rolled Usachi into a ball in front of them, it had no effect; they were still afraid.
Dragons do not dwell with snakes; even unicorns cannot withstand the oppressive aura of these divine beasts.
Tom originally wanted the unicorn to babysit Usachi, but it seems that won't work out that way.
And this little guy is especially clingy to him now; he can't be left alone here at all, and absolutely refuses to leave his arms.
It started whimpering as soon as I put it down, looking extremely aggrieved.
Rayquaza is still small now, so it's fine to carry it around, but what about later?
He remembered that Rayquaza in its Champion form was at least ten meters long, making it a large Pokémon. He couldn't possibly carry it around in his pocket back then, could he?
Oh well, the baby is still young, less than a day old, it's normal for him to be clingy, he'll grow out of it.
"Don't scare your older sister and auntie."
Tom ruffled Usachi's little head and approached the unicorns to feed them their daily dose of Patronus. Usachi watched curiously and then imitated him, eating a little as well.
With another creature suddenly appearing to snatch their food, the unicorns didn't dare to glare at it, but quietly quickened their pace, afraid that the little divine beast would steal everything.
Unlike them, Usachi stopped after a few bites, shook his head, and turned his face away with a look of disgust.
Tom suddenly realized that he didn't know what Rayquaza usually ate.
He quickly went to the small warehouse at the edge of the space and took out all kinds of medicinal herbs and pet food, letting Usachi choose for himself.
She scoffed at the medicinal herbs, curiously ate a couple of bites of various pet foods, and then her big eyes showed human-like disdain.
Tom simply took her into the warehouse, whereupon Usachi stared at the dragon meat with her eyes gleaming.
All the dragon meat was frozen by the Freezing Charm. Tom took out a piece to thaw, and the little guy began to devour it.
One piece wasn't enough; he ate three more before finally falling asleep, satisfied.
The three pieces together definitely weighed more than ten pounds. Tom looked at that tiny body and wondered how it managed to fit them all in. Was it a bottomless pit?
Usachi fell asleep, and Tom finally had some free time.
He entered the Study Space, ready to test the effects of the Meditation Hut.
When they appeared, Andros was sharing his experience of using the Meditation Hut with Gellert Grindelwald, and Gellert Grindelwald's eyes gleamed as he listened.
"I've discovered that improvement can't be explained in just a few words. If I had had this Meditation Hut back then, I might have become a legend myself."
The man's face was full of emotion, "I never imagined we'd have such an opportunity after death, to actually continue growing stronger."
Gellert Grindelwald's eye twitched. "Mr. Andros, please watch your words. You are dead, I am still alive."
"Hey, why worry so much?" Andros chuckled easily. "You've been locked up for fifty years, what's the difference between that and being dead?"
Gellert Grindelwald: "..."
He felt that he would be driven mad by Andros sooner or later, which meant that he and Andros were evenly matched.
Otherwise, with that mouth of his, how could he possibly live to a ripe old age and die peacefully?
However, Gellert Grindelwald's heart was also burning with passion. Even after being imprisoned in the tower for half a century, Gellert Grindelwald's love for magic had not diminished.
He would never give up if there was any possibility of going further.
"Gentlemen," Tom approached them, "I understand your joy at seeing a glimmer of hope, but please don't forget the important matter at hand."
"You may use the Meditation Hut freely while I'm away, but only after you've successfully researched the flight spell can you contemplate your own questions."
"Don't worry, Tom," Gellert Grindelwald said in a deep voice, "Andros and I should be able to fix it into a spell in the next few days, it won't delay you."
"That would be perfect."
Tom nodded readily; he didn't know how long it took Voldemort to develop the flight spell.
But since he released the mission, only two and a half months have passed. It has to be said that 2.5 is indeed a magical number.
