Gossip About Albus Dumbledore
Tom nodded, understanding dawning on him: No wonder Albus Dumbledore didn't use such a promising talent as Rolf Scamander Scamander to deal with Voldemort.
It turns out the family had already given them a heads-up. Judging from Tina Goldstein's attitude, she probably not only instructed Rolf Scamander, but may have even warned Albus Dumbledore directly.
In the Study Space, after listening to Tina Goldstein's words, Gellert Grindelwald remained silent for a moment, then said, "This woman is smart."
Gellert Grindelwald grew increasingly angry. Why was Newt Scamander surrounded by reliable people, while he hadn't had that kind of luck back then?
Tom made a mental note of it; there weren't many people who could earn Gellert Grindelwald's praise for their intelligence.
Tina Goldstein turned to Tom, her tone softening. "My grandson, Rolf Scamander, is going to Hogwarts after summer vacation. Could you keep an eye on him for me at school?"
"No problem," Tom readily agreed. "I'll keep an eye on things at school for you. If anything happens, I'll send a message right away."
He really wanted to see Albus Dumbledore and Tina Goldstein clash; that scene would definitely be exciting.
Tina Goldstein's eyes lit up. Tom was much smarter than her taciturn grandson. Having him as an informant was much more reliable than Rolf Scamander be careful and cautious himself.
He immediately agreed, "Then I'll have to trouble you, Tom."
"You're too kind, it's nothing!" Tom said with a fawning smile.
"I heard that Newt Scamander didn't have a good time at Hogwarts back then. With me here, no one will dare to bully Rolf Scamander."
Tina Goldstein turned to Newt Scamander. "Do you and Tom have any plans?"
Newt Scamander stammered out the story about the Thunderbird, Tina Goldstein, after listening, looked at Tom with affection.
He instructed, "That child has come all this way, it's not easy for them, so please do your job well and don't cause any more trouble, do you hear me?"
"Tina Goldstein, Grandma Tina!" Tom rushed to flatter Newt before Newt Scamander could even nod, his words as sweet as honey.
Will Rolf Scamander be assigned to Slytherin?
"Probably not, it'll be Hufflepuff. Actually, the Hufflepuff kids are all pretty good, it's just that their headmaster back then wasn't good."
He lowered his voice again, "Albus Dumbledore may be cunning, but at least he wouldn't expel a student arbitrarily."
"Your old man Newt Scamander was just too honest. He got tricked by a honey trap back then, and that's why he ended up like that."
"Oh? Is that so? Tell me more!" Tom immediately became interested and moved even closer.
Newt Scamander watched the two getting along better and better, a wry smile on his face, and sighed inwardly.
Albus Dumbledore, I've tried my best to salvage your reputation, but it seems to be of little use...
Tina Goldstein didn't stop sharing gossip until eight o'clock, still feeling a bit unsatisfied. She had work to do, so she turned and went upstairs to her study.
Newt Scamander then picked up his wand and directed the plates to float into the sink, where they began to wash themselves automatically.
Tom thought for a moment, then followed. "Uncle Newt Scamander, would you like to come with me to see the unicorn?"
"Go to Hogwarts? But you still want to..." Newt Scamander started to say, then suddenly realized something, his eyes lit up, and he lowered his voice, "You brought them out?"
"Well, the little ones are too clingy, so I created a little space and brought them along."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
With a crash, Newt Scamander's hand trembled in excitement, and all the plates fell into the sink, two of them shattering.
But he didn't care at all, and grabbed Tom, rushing out the door at a speed that didn't seem like that of a man in his nineties.
Tom led Newt Scamander into the suitcase space, and the moment they stood still, the wooden plank beneath their feet slowly descended.
Newt Scamander's breathing quickened, and he muttered to himself, "Yeah, automatic lifting, how come I didn't think of that!"
"Huh? What did you say?" Tom looked at him in confusion.
"N-nothing," Newt Scamander forced a smile, his heart pounding with tears.
His suitcase still has the most basic staircase, and climbing up and down it every day leaves him with a sore back. But he can't tell Tom, lest he be seen as an idiot.
He had originally planned to take Tom to visit his portable world, but now it seemed he would have to change the way they entered and exited overnight, otherwise it would be too embarrassing.
The two quickly landed on the lawn in the space, where three unicorns were sunbathing.
The Second Treasure 'Big Treasure fur was so white it shone, while the Little Three's pink mane gleamed with a faint golden hue in the sunlight.
Newt Scamander's eyes scanned them like an X-ray. "White fur, slender bodies... the horn has grown longer, so the magic must have increased accordingly."
He crouched down and stared at the Little Three for a long time. "Is this a mutation? It's actually pink."
"I don't know, maybe it's from eating the Patronus," Tom replied casually.
Newt Scamander was completely absorbed in his own world, muttering to himself.
Tom patted each of the unicorns' heads. These past few days he had been busy with alchemy, practicing flying, and spending time with the Greengrass sisters.
Busier than when I was in school, I haven't spent much time with these little ones lately.
Newt Scamander used his professional knowledge to answer many of his questions, but there were still many phenomena that he couldn't explain.
It can only be attributed to Tom; it must be the power of Tom's Patronus that caused the unicorn to undergo so many changes.
"Tom, could you feed them some of your Patronus now?" the old man asked, his eyes full of hope.
Tom naturally wouldn't refuse such a small request, Tom cast the Patronus Charm.
The white mist spread through the air, and the three unicorns immediately stood up and came over to sip it.
Newt Scamander crouched down beside him, watching the whole thing intently without blinking, muttering, "Interesting, so interesting."
The Patronus's power does indeed resonate with unicorns, but that's not enough to make them evolve, or even revert to their ancestral bloodline.
Even after the three little ones finished eating, Newt Scamander still couldn't figure it out.
"Can I try feeding them with my Patronus?"
Tom nodded and gave up his seat.
Newt Scamander raised his wand, and silver light surged from its tip, condensing into a ferret.
The ferret hopped around in the air twice, and under his control, it approached the unicorn.
The three unicorns raised their heads, glanced at the ferret, and then lowered their heads again, their large eyes revealing an undisguised disdain.
Newt Scamander was stunned.
"Do they dislike my Patronus?"
Tom thought for a moment. "Maybe it's not tasty enough."
Newt Scamander's face fell. He squatted there, holding the silver ferret in his hands, while the unicorn didn't even glance at him.
He muttered to himself, "I've studied Fantastic Beasts my whole life, and I don't even know what unicorns like to eat?"
Newt Scamander never claimed to be a particularly righteous wizard, but he was always very confident in his Patronus Charm.
He usually has plenty of positive emotions, but right now, the three unicorns' disdainful looks clearly show that they look down on his Patronus.
These three little ones, they must eat so well!
