Background / History
Harry first meets Devero Alexander at King’s Cross while anxiously trying to reach Platform 9¾. Relieved to find another first-year, he introduces himself warmly and quickly forms a friendship with him. Devero identifies Harry as the famed Boy Who Lived and observes his unusual collection of high-tier traits. 11
He is sorted into Gryffindor, causing a major reaction in the Great Hall. On the Hogwarts Express, he befriends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger; Hermione repairs his glasses, while Harry’s scar and reputation repeatedly draw attention from other students. 14 20
Harry later demonstrates unexpectedly advanced magical ability in a test arranged by Snape. Dumbledore and Flitwick praise his performance, while Snape is troubled by Harry’s abrupt intellectual and magical growth. 23
His condition deteriorates after exposure to a Killing Curse at the Owlery. Although his mother’s protection prevents immediate death, the Horcrux’s influence causes him to lose control. Devero incapacitates him safely and has Hagrid take him to the infirmary. 57
Harry subsequently suffers episodes of collapse, anemia, blood loss, memory problems, snake-like eyes, and increasingly erratic behavior. He attacks Ron near the Black Lake, leading Devero to discover that Harry’s trait has become Dark Lord (Red). 186 187 217 229
He eventually confides in Devero that murderous dreams grant him new spells and potion knowledge. Though frightened that he is becoming a monster, Harry accepts Devero’s advice to value Ron, Hermione, and his other friends as his strongest protection. 243 244
