History

First Shinobi World War

During the First Shinobi World War, Konoha operated a main military camp and received intelligence from the mortally wounded Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, through Li Yi. Tobirama offered Li Yi admission to Konoha, while Kosuke Maruboshi escorted him through repeated Cloud Village attacks to deliver the scroll safely. 2 3 4

Li Yi delivered Tobirama's scroll to Sarutobi Hiruzen at the camp. Hiruzen rewarded him with the Dance of the Crescent Moon and Multi Shadow Clone Technique scrolls, after which Kosuke escorted him into Konoha and arranged lodging and living expenses for him. 5

Konoha's leadership later announced Sarutobi Hiruzen as the Third Hokage. 6

Wars with Other Villages

Following Uchiha Kagami's death, Konoha declared war on Kumogakure. Hiruzen mobilized the village's shinobi while also deploying forces against a possible Sunagakure attack. 28

Konoha subsequently fought on multiple fronts. Its leadership considered the strain on its elite forces severe enough that Danzō could dispatch only Yamanaka Ao's squad to rescue Li Yi while the wider war continued. 41

Li Yi's defeat of the Second Kazekage broke a stalemate with Sunagakure, prompting celebration among Konoha's ninja and allowing its leaders to plan an offensive. 46

As threats from Sunagakure, Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure escalated, Hiruzen assigned defensive commands across several fronts: Hatake Sakumo against Sunagakure, Danzō against Kumogakure, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu in the Land of Rain and Land of Grass, and the Ino-Shika-Cho team with Qu Feng against potential Kirigakure action. 86

Li Yi's Administration

Li Yi became Konoha's Fourth Hokage without a vote after a battlefield victory. He convened the clan heads, prepared demands for compensation from Kumogakure and Iwagakure, dismissed Danzō as Hokage Advisor, and appointed Orochimaru in his place. 105

He redistributed major offices shortly afterward: Orochimaru received Root, Hatake Sakumo became captain of the Anbu Second Division, Tsunade took charge of the Medical Department, and Jiraiya received an S-rank mission to locate the Child of Prophecy. 106

Under Li Yi, Konoha became powerful enough that Kirigakure's Fifth Mizukage deferred to him and committed more than a thousand shinobi with marine-life summoning beasts to search for the Ōtsutsuki Treasure. 158 159

Five years into Li Yi's tenure, Konoha's Anbu were searching for Ōtsutsuki ruins and Karasuki, a time-and-space artifact. 142

Li Yi later sent researchers, Orochimaru, and Hatake Sakumo to that Konoha to study its advanced technology. The two versions of Orochimaru exchanged scientific knowledge, while Sakumo trained Kakashi in Hatake swordsmanship. 177 178

This collaboration placed the alternate Konoha on the verge of rapid technological development, even as it defended itself against Code's attack. 178
