Fifty Sheets, Is That Enough?

Upon hearing Ye Yuexin say this, Itachi Uchiha did not retort in the slightest. Instead, he grew even more resolute, stating, "I understand. I will definitely surpass you."

Only then did Ye Yuexin suddenly realize where he was and what he was doing.

This was no time for jokes. Ye Yuexin immediately asked, "Why did you come over here too? Weren't you supposed to go get reinforcements? Huh?"

"What if some unexpected accident happens later?" Ye Yuexin said, keeping his voice low.

As expected, he shouldn't have teamed up with Itachi Uchiha.

He paused for a moment before continuing, "I also have intelligence to share with you."

Hearing that Itachi Uchiha had more information, Ye Yuexin asked, "What kind of intelligence? Where did you get it?"

"On the way following you, I saw a ninja tied to a rock in a valley. I used a genjutsu on him to extract some information."

He paused again and continued, "According to the intelligence, Twin Ox Mountain is divided into Mountain A and Mountain B. Judging by the shape, the one we are on now should be Mountain B."

"They are meeting to discuss their cooperation on a protruding boulder on the cliff of Mountain A. There is a large open space on the boulder, and there are a few houses there as well."

"The two mountains are connected by iron chains."

"We must cross the iron bridge to reach their meeting point."

Upon hearing this, Ye Yuexin worriedly asked, "What if they have already crossed the iron bridge? That would be troublesome. After hearing Itachi Uchiha's analysis, Ye Yuexin immediately formed a new plan.

Since Itachi Uchiha had already arrived, there was no way he was going back, so Ye Yuexin factored him into the upcoming plan.

He thought for a moment and said, "Mountain B is too large, and we have no way of knowing where they are resting. Searching in the dark like this is indeed too dangerous. Let's head to that iron chain bridge first and then discuss our plan."

Ye Yuexin and Itachi Uchiha began to head toward a cliffside on the mountainside of Mountain B.

There were quite a few trees on the cliff, which was perfect for Ye Yuexin and his companion to observe from.

An iron chain bridge, about two meters wide and over thirty meters long, appeared before them.

The chains didn't look very thick, and wooden planks were laid across them.

For some reason, even though the situation was vastly different, the sight instantly reminded Ye Yuexin of the "Heroic Battle of Luding Bridge" scene he had seen in films from his past life.

But this was exactly what gave Ye Yuexin inspiration. They could simply destroy the iron chain bridge. Just like in the film, they could prevent the two sides from meeting up by destroying it.

And if they were lucky, they might even be able to take them out directly.

Gesturing slightly at the air, Ye Yuexin said, "Why did I forget to bring Explosive Tags?"

Hearing this, Itachi Uchiha looked at Ye Yuexin.

Seeing Itachi Uchiha look over, Ye Yuexin said to him, "If we had Explosive Tags now, we could sneakily hide them under the wooden planks of the iron chain bridge."

"Then, when Lin Mu and the others come at dawn, we could blow the bridge apart."

"I have 50 here. Is that enough?" Itachi Uchiha said calmly.

"Enough!" Ye Yuexin rudely snatched the Explosive Tags from Itachi Uchiha's hand and stuffed them into his own pouch.

He glanced at the distant cliff, where two people were patrolling.

He then said, "Can you use a genjutsu to make them unable to see me?"

Itachi Uchiha gauged the distance, thought in silence for a moment, and said, "The Sharingan's genjutsu would work, but it requires eye contact. Doing that might alert the rogue ninjas on the cliff."

"What about a standard genjutsu?" Hearing Itachi Uchiha say this, Ye Yuexin knew the Sharingan genjutsu wouldn't work, so he asked.

Itachi Uchiha explained in detail, "For a hand-seal genjutsu, the further the distance, the weaker the effect. We are currently at the absolute limit of my range. I can't guarantee it will succeed."

Hearing this, Ye Yuexin fell silent again.

He seemed to be pondering something.

A moment later, he said, "Fine, just use the hand-seal genjutsu. Even if it fails, I feel like I can still ruin their little party."

He glanced at the two patrolling figures on the distant cliff and said, "Start now. I'm going to sneak across under the bridge."

Hearing Ye Yuexin say this, Itachi Uchiha began to weave hand seals. Then, he whispered, "Phantom Vision Technique."

Seeing Itachi Uchiha use his ninjutsu, Ye Yuexin rushed out with peace of mind, quickly disappearing from the cliffside. He gripped the chains beneath the suspension bridge with both hands and slowly crawled to the middle of the bridge.

After quickly placing the Explosive Tags, Ye Yuexin retraced his steps.

Once he returned to the tree, the heart Ye Yuexin had been holding in his chest finally settled. Because his perception was quite keen, he had felt unsafe the entire time he was under the suspension bridge.

Itachi Uchiha also dispelled the illusion and steadied his breathing.

Just then, Ye Yuexin, who was observing from afar, froze.

It was only now that he noticed a person inside the highest house on the cliff, standing by the window and watching them.

A cold sweat broke out over him instantly.

He felt that things had taken a turn for the worse.

However, even though Ye Yuexin had prepared himself to flee, the other side remained incomparably quiet. It was highly abnormal.

The person by the window then slowly vanished.
