Demon Race deception

Xiao Gu operated under the identity of an “Elder Xiao Gu” of the Howling Moon Heavenly Wolf Clan while the Demon Race fought the Human Race. He was credited with using a teleportation array to return Nascent Soul and Spirit Transformation demon elites to their clan territories; the real clan chief realized this was impossible because the clan’s central formation showed no spatial activity, and the Xiao Gu he knew had reportedly been abducted two days earlier. 226

After the allied demons turned on the Howling Moon Heavenly Wolf patriarch, Xiao Gu watched the battle from afar and waited until the other attackers fled. He then collected the damaged stone bowl that had protected the patriarch and appeared before him as “Xiao Gu.” 228

The wounded patriarch attacked him in desperation, but Xiao Gu evaded through layered illusions and struck with Red Lotus Karmic Fire empowered by the perfected Causality Rule. The patriarch ultimately self-destructed rather than submit, leaving Xiao Gu without spoils from the kill. 229

Xiao Gu then used Fleeting Life, Illusory Dream and the perfected Heart Demon Rule to fabricate a Recording Stone depicting the Heavenly Flying Tiger Patriarch murdering the wolf chief. He left the false record behind to provoke conflict among the Demon Race clans. 230

Spirit World resource campaign

After entering the Spirit World, Xiao Gu was tasked with acquiring Void Refinement resources for Zhao Hao’s main body. He learned of the Heavenly Cauldron Palace ruins and the auction for entry tokens, but initially possessed only slightly more than one thousand Spirit Crystals. 248 249

To meet the auction’s price, he purchased the Hundred Convergences Crystal Condensation Art and used Zhao Hao’s Nascent Soul avatars to mass-produce Spirit Crystals. The System’s Enhancement function then upgraded the low-grade products, allowing him to accumulate Spirit Crystals worth roughly 40,000 mid-grade Spirit Crystals in ten days. 249 250

At the Spirit Evolution Auction House, Xiao Gu repeatedly opened bidding at 10,000 mid-grade Spirit Crystals to pressure competitors. When cultivators demanded proof of his assets, he turned the demand back on them by asking whether every bidder—including those in private rooms—would be verified. The auctioneer withdrew the challenge and awarded him a Heavenly Cauldron Palace token. 251 252

Heavenly Cauldron Palace

Inside Heavenly Cauldron Palace, Xiao Gu’s physical body allowed him to ascend the spiritually suppressive Ascendant Immortal Steps with far less difficulty than ordinary Void Refinement cultivators. He identified the apparent palaces alongside the stairs as illusions concealing a bottomless abyss of spatial turbulence. 253 254

He later drew a Mahayana Jiaochi Race avatar into Zhao Hao’s Inner Landscape World with Other-Transformation Calamity Thought. Although the opponent identified himself as the Blood Spirit Ancestor and attempted to bargain for release, Xiao Gu used the System Enhancement process to erase the avatar and upgrade the damaged bowl into the low-grade Profound Heaven Void-Nether Bowl. 256 257 258

After Zhao Hao’s group claimed Heavenly Cauldron Palace as a concealed base, Xiao Gu evaluated the captured Profound Heaven Mountain-Splitting Axe and used it as enhancement material. This raised the Void-Nether Bowl from low-grade to mid-grade Profound Heaven Spirit Treasure. 274 275

Five-Element restoration quest

Seeking a way to restore Zhao Hao’s missing elemental foundation, Xiao Gu first obtained the Five-Element Spirit Root Nurturing Method from Ao Run of the Dragon Race. He determined that it was useless because Zhao Hao’s metal, wood, water, and earth roots had been completely destroyed rather than merely left undeveloped. 285 286

He traveled to Myriad Spirits City and directly sought knowledge from the Spirit Race. After meeting Jin Ling, patriarch of the Five-Element Lineage, Xiao Gu accepted a Heart Demon Law oath: in exchange for the secret art, he would obtain a Body Integration Desolate Beast’s five-element crystal core from the Dark Continent. 287 288

The resulting Five-Element Heaven-Replenishing Art uses Desolate Beast Cores to forge corresponding spirit roots and absorb elemental Law insights. Xiao Gu deliberately provoked a Mahayana giant bear Desolate Beast, transformed into a Five-Clawed True Dragon, and overwhelmed it with fused laws and Purple Firmament Divine Thunder. When two additional Mahayana auras approached, he accepted the bear’s offering of more than one hundred crystal cores and withdrew. 289 290 291
