Jia Ren

When the test revealed Zhao Hao's fire-attribute heavenly spiritual root, Jia Ren’s demeanor shifted dramatically from cold indifference to gushing enthusiasm, and he took a wisp of Zhao Hao's vital essence blood under the pretext of creating a soul lamp—an act that immediately made Zhao Hao wary of ulterior motives 2. This underlying tension resurfaced months later, after Zhao Hao had reached Foundation Establishment. Jia Ren tracked him down using the lifeblood essence he had collected, intending to seize whatever inheritance he believed Zhao Hao had obtained. However, Zhao Hao bluffed, claiming the backing of True Person Corpse Heart and brandishing a fake second-tier Space Escape Talisman, which played on Jia Ren’s greed and cowardice to make him retreat 26. Despite this standoff, Jia Ren remained among the senior disciples present when the sect was mobilised for war, maintaining a facade of normalcy 20. The relationship is thus defined by predatory interest on Jia Ren’s part and cautious, calculated deception on Zhao Hao’s.

Their conflict ultimately ended in Jia Ren’s death. Once Zhao Hao exposed his Foundation Establishment cultivation, Jia Ren assumed an old monster had possessed Zhao Hao’s body, fled using Blood Escape Art, and was tracked down by Zhao Hao 27. Zhao Hao killed him, destroyed his corpse and identity tokens, and used Jia Ren’s Blood-Colored Compass to strengthen his own Tracking Compass, eliminating a means by which his lifeblood essence could be followed 27 29.

True Person Corpse Heart

True Person Corpse Heart, the master of the Corpse Refining Lineage, accepted Zhao Hao as his ninth direct disciple after word of his prowess reached the lineage hall 8. The master immediately had the third senior brother, Shi Lei, test Zhao Hao’s qualifications by forcing him to walk through a gauntlet of refined corpses—a cold, impersonal initiation that set the tone for the relationship 8. True Person Corpse Heart later demonstrated his ruthlessness by summarily killing a disciple and absorbing his soul, striking fear into everyone present, and he ordered Zhao Hao to join the war against the Heavenly Sword Sect, ostensibly to temper him but without offering any protection 20. When assigning Zhao Hao to the front battlefield alongside the eldest senior brother, Guo Fan, he framed the order as a “gift,” though Zhao Hao recognised it as a likely death sentence 21. Lin Yaoyao

Lin Yaoyao was the eighth senior sister of the Corpse Refining Lineage. When Zhao Hao first arrived at Ten Thousand Corpse Mountain, she stood out among the distant or hostile senior brothers and sisters for her friendliness and openness toward him, offering a rare moment of warmth in an otherwise intimidating environment 8. She later volunteered to group with him during the search for Wu De, promising to protect her weaker junior brother 15.

That apparent protectiveness proved false. During their encounter with Heavenly Sword Sect cultivators, Lin Yaoyao attacked Zhao Hao from behind. Zhao Hao blocked her with the perfected Spirit Shield Art, severely injured her with the perfected Light Body Art, and then fled underground when the white-robed sword cultivator returned 18. Lin Yaoyao was subsequently beheaded by that Heavenly Sword Sect cultivator 18 20. Zhao Hao’s relationship with her was therefore brief and initially cordial, but ultimately revealed as another predatory senior–junior dynamic within the Extreme Yin Sect.

Lu Gui

Lu Gui, a seventh-level Qi Refining cultivator, was one of the first to recognise Zhao Hao’s extraordinary talent.
