As Dumbledore continued to descend, those watching through the hazy green glow could finally see what was happening below.
The square below had already turned into a sea of fire. The Fiendfyre seemed alive, transforming into countless colossal serpents that rampaged through the surrounding buildings.
The various statues appeared to be ready-made delicacies. The Fiendfyre serpents flung them into the air before catching them in their gaping maws, using them to further swell the flames.

The Muggle Prime Minister of Hungary and the Minister for Magic cried out at the same time. The instant they saw those statues, they recognized where this inferno was located.
The Muggle Prime Minister gritted his teeth. If Voldemort and Dumbledore had not shocked him so deeply, he would have grabbed the Minister for Magic by the collar and demanded to know what the hell was happening.
The Muggle Prime Minister changed tactics and muttered regretfully, "This is Heroes' Square! Wizards may not know what it means... or its commemorative value..."
