"An interesting way to put it..." Dumbledore smiled faintly and waved his wand at the shattered stream of water. "You clearly care about your subordinates. Why don't you stay too?"
The shattered water transformed into countless arrows, raining down on Voldemort.
"Dumbledore!" Voldemort swept his wand downward. All the arrows hurtling toward him fell to the ground and turned into venomous snakes with flickering tongues.
The snakes slithered across the ground, closing in on the Aurors at tremendous speed.
Dumbledore was about to make the snakes vanish when two Dementors appeared, blocking the space in front of his wand.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Voldemort seized the opportunity, casting a Killing Curse at precisely the right moment to attack Dumbledore.
Dumbledore lightly stamped his foot. The water beneath him split into two streams, one of which became a shield radiating cold that blocked his front.
The icy shield collided with the Killing Curse and scattered like frost, but the curse remained intact and continued toward Dumbledore.
Fortunately, the other stream carried Dumbledore downward, allowing him to narrowly evade the incoming Killing Curse.
Dumbledore kept casting, tracing a circle in the air with his wand. "Expecto Patronum!"
Another Phoenix Patronus sprang from his wand tip and drove the two Dementors away from him.
As soon as the Phoenix Patronus repelled the Dementors, Dumbledore redirected his wand toward Voldemort, who was wreathed in gray smoke...
The battle high overhead was just as fierce, with the Patronuses and Dementors locked in a relentless struggle.
Perhaps it was because Azkaban no longer existed, perhaps Voldemort had promised generous terms, or perhaps there were simply too many Dementors. Even when the Patronuses drove them away, they swarmed back again.
