The door on the right, third floor, 127 Rue de Grenelle in Paris's seventh arrondissement-that was the address Claire Bernard had left them.
Once everything was ready, Wizet and Luna appeared in a small alley. They left it, crossed the road, and arrived in front of a six-story building.
This was a residential neighborhood lined with uniform Haussmann-style buildings, all with the same neat beige limestone facades, black wrought-iron balconies, and tall windows.
They took the cage elevator to the third floor, where Wizet and Luna knocked on the door before them.
Oliver Wood opened the door. At the sight of them, his brows knitted together. "I almost forgot! You're not allowed to use magic outside school, are you?"
"Here's what we'll do! If anyone from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement comes, tell them I did it... I remember that's how the law works. I'll explain the rest!"
"It's all right, Wood. Don't worry!" Wizet waved a hand. "Headmaster Dumbledore gave Luna and me permission to use magic in his capacity as president of the International Confederation of Wizards."
When he and Luna had gone to North America two years earlier, Dumbledore had given them the same permission to avoid unnecessary trouble.
"That's a relief!" Wood let out a breath and hurriedly stepped aside to make room for them. "Let's not talk out here. Come in!"
The Bernard family was clearly well-off. Solid wood parquet flooring laid in a herringbone pattern covered the floor, and the living room had a matching set of upholstered sofas, along with a television, a video recorder, and a stereo.
To make room for the Ritual Magic Array, however, all the furniture and appliances had been moved against the walls, and the rug in the middle of the living room had been folded aside.
