The sudden loud noise interrupted Gellert Grindelwald's singing.
Accompanied by a series of staggering footsteps, Selina Pendragon pushed open the door and entered the prison cell at the very top of Nurmengard.
"Even if you are a few years older than me, your health cannot possibly be this bad, can it?" Gellert Grindelwald turned toward Selina Pendragon, his tone carrying a hint of teasing.
"I was only practicing the Flight Charm." Selina Pendragon looked perfectly composed as she rolled her neck, producing a string of cracking sounds.
"But this place... shouldn't it be repaired? When I came up just now, the stairs shook several times."
"It is not just that. Even the magic sustaining this place seems to have become unstable. Maybe one day it will no longer be able to hold it up, and it will collapse."
"It will not collapse." Gellert Grindelwald gave a derisive snort, his gaze seeming to pierce the cold stone walls. "As long as I remain here, it will stand forever."
"Oh?" Selina Pendragon raised an eyebrow. "It sounds as though you do not want it to collapse... I thought you would be looking forward to that day."
"After all, when Dumbledore sent you here, he did not set a specific term. If this place collapsed, would that not mean you could leave?"
"A lovely thought." The corner of Gellert Grindelwald's mouth curved upward. "Since Albus asked me to stay here, it will remain with me."
"Gasp!" Selina Pendragon drew in a sharp breath. "I suddenly feel a little cold... or perhaps it really is cold in here!"
