"Dumbledore! Let me see it!" Voldemort threw back his head and laughed wildly, raising his wand as powerful magical fluctuations rippled through the air around him. "What can you do now?!"

As his voice fell, dazzling red light burst from the tip of his wand. Like a falling crimson meteor, it shot straight toward the battlefield below.

Dumbledore and Quirrell's expressions changed. They immediately understood Voldemort's intentions—he wanted to shift his target and seize the initiative.
