Harry Potter wasn't dead?

Voldemort felt a roar fill his head. He had thought he had achieved his goal, yet just as before, he still could not kill Harry Potter...

Why?

For a moment, he thought he was hallucinating. Then he saw Harry Potter stagger forward, his face filled with disbelief, and finally realized... Harry Potter truly wasn't dead!

Why?

That was what Harry wanted to know as well. His gaze kept shifting, passing over Voldemort's unwilling expression, sweeping past Snape, who looked anguished and was still trembling, before finally settling on Dumbledore.

"Professor Dumbledore, what is Voldemort talking about? Lily... Is he talking about my mother?"

Even though Wizet had rendered him unable to speak, he still struggled to straighten himself and made an exaggerated nodding motion.

Caught off guard by this, Snape fell backward. He instinctively braced himself against the floor before finally steadying himself.

Wizet flicked his wand lightly, and Voldemort's movements froze as well, leaving him in a particularly comical and pathetic pose.

"What did he kneel down for?" His gaze fell on Snape. As though he had thought of something terrifying, even his voice began to tremble. "Did he ask... ask for my mother to be killed?"

"No! How could I possibly do such a thing?!" Snape practically roared.

Dumbledore's expression was complicated. He let out a long sigh, but still did not speak.

Snape said with absolute determination, "How could I possibly let Voldemort harm Lily? The thing I regret most is hurting Lily!"

Harry's eyes were frantic as he murmured in a low voice, "Then why... why?"

The answer from Snape, coupled with Dumbledore's silence, left him no choice
