Arc 44The Tianbao Reckoning
Li Chengqian and Qing Mo brought Li Shimin’s forces into the Tianbao Era, punished Li Longji and his corrupt officials, and brought Zheng Ping’an, Li Shande, and Zhao Xinmin into the Zhenguan Era. The court then investigated temples and planned overseas kingdoms and a newspaper to weaken the great clans, leaving Li Shimin preparing to reshape Tang’s future.
- Li Chengqian recruited Zhao Xinmin, helped Li Shande’s lychee-transport plan succeed, and revealed his identity as the Zhenguan-era Crown Prince to Zheng Ping’an and Zhao Xinmin.
- Qing Mo brought Li Yuan, Li Shimin, and Zhenguan-era forces into the Tianbao Era, where they entered the palace and punished Li Longji, Yang Guozhong, Gao Lishi, and Yu Chengen.
- Li Chengqian and Li Shimin welcomed Li Shande, Zheng Ping’an, and their families into the Zhenguan Era, while Zhao Xinmin remained to develop Lingnan with He Youguang’s seized wealth.
- Qing Mo gathered officials, poets, and artists in Chang’an, while Li Tai and Li Ke joined Li Chengqian to investigate temples and expose their wealth, land seizures, and foreign connections.
- Li Chengqian ordered raids on temples across Tang, and Qing Mo worked with Zheng Ping’an and Dog to develop honeycomb briquettes and secure coal mines for public use.
- Qing Mo showed the court television and screened Romance of the Three Kingdoms, then asked Li Tai and Li Ke to consider founding kingdoms overseas.
- Li Tai chose Europe and Li Ke chose North America, and they presented their plan with Li Chengqian to Li Shimin, who accepted that population constrained Tang’s expansion.
- Qing Mo proposed using overseas settlement to draw the great clans’ people and resources abroad, and presented Li Shimin with a newspaper to spread information and weaken their influence.
