Naruto enters the Ninja Academy as a bored, academically struggling student who is frequently mocked by classmates. Villagers’ stares and gossip leave him accustomed to isolation, making him initially wary when Duanmu offers to walk home with him. 1 2

He seeks attention through pranks, including an attempt to graffiti Hokage Rock, but readily follows Duanmu to train instead. Even at this stage, Naruto openly declares that he will surpass Duanmu and become stronger. 2 5

Personality

Naruto is energetic, impulsive, and deeply eager for recognition. He becomes frustrated by ordinary D-rank work, wanting difficult battles and visible accomplishments that will prove he deserves acknowledgement as a ninja. 24 25
