The bandits' corpses lay piled by the roadside.
Hilde checked them over to make sure none were playing dead, then dragged the bodies to a clearing with Nina and Isolte.
She raised a hand and conjured a small flame, which quickly engulfed the bodies.
"Oh, no!"
Nina slapped her thigh. "We forgot to check whether they had any money on them!"
"We don't need that little bit of money," Hilde said flatly. How much could a bunch of bandits possibly be carrying?
She might not have been particularly wealthy now, but she was no longer the girl who had to work as a mascot at a dessert shop.
Everyone fell on hard times.
One bad stretch didn't define a whole life!
After burning the bodies, the three mounted their horses and continued on their way.
To them, it was only an insignificant little incident.
They encountered no more bands of robbers along the rest of their journey.
Following the direction indicated by the Locator, they crossed snow-covered mountains and woodlands. Occasionally, they strayed deep into monster habitats and had to fight, but with their strength, they dealt with those encounters easily.
And so, half a month slowly passed.

Standing on a hillside and looking into the distance, they could see a town at the foot of the mountain.
Although the town was small, it had everything they needed. Its population was considerably larger than that of the previous town, and it even had an Adventurers' Guild branch.
