In Flavia's limited memories, she had never eaten anything so delicious. Compared with Quill Rat meat, it was the difference between heaven and earth. Diya smiled as he watched Flavia eat bread and roasted meat and drink milk, quietly deciding that once they left this place, he would make sure to bring Flavia food every day.
But could he bring Flavia out into the world beyond? Diya could not help sinking into thought.
"Master, I'm full," Flavia said, pursing her little lips.
"Good." The food Diya had brought in this time filled a large bundle. Even with his appetite, for the two of them to finish it all would take more than two meals. If they ate sparingly, it would definitely last three meals.
After packing the food away again and slinging it over his back, Diya walked ahead while Flavia followed closely behind. They headed toward the cave entrance, about one and a half meters high. A large, irregular slab of stone surrounded the entrance, its surface carved with strange patterns that gave off an air of mystery.
Wave after wave of deep, sinister energy drifted from the entrance, making their bodies shiver involuntarily. Combined with the deathly silence all around, the cave was like the gaping maw of some ancient beast, waiting at any moment to swallow every living thing whole.
Gripping the Demon-Breaking Greatsword tightly, Diya held up an already lit torch in one hand and ducked into the cave. He descended step after step as a dark, damp chill rushed over him.
