Background

Diya grew up in Carlos City's commoners' district under the care of Fu Ka, whom he calls Uncle Fu. Fu Ka spent fifteen years raising him, a burden that visibly aged the caretaker. 2

Before gaining conventional cultivation ability, Diya trained his body for years and accidentally learned to create the Flick Sword, a small, fragile silvery blade that became his only weapon. His early frailty and inability to cultivate made him a target for contempt and exploitation. 2 5 15

His circumstances changed after he activated the Horadric Cube with his blood. The Cube recognized him as its master, while Diablo, Lord of Hell, became fused to his soul. Diya also regained memories of a previous life on Earth. 11

Within the Cube's shattered Hell, Diya learned that Hell had been divided into thirty-nine fragments and that he could grow stronger by fusing with them. Diablo's soul is bound to Diya's: they share one life, while Diablo can access Diya's memories because his soul is stronger. 19

Appearance

Diya begins as a thin, weak-looking youth, but repeated fragment fusions, cultivation, and life-force absorption transform him into a lean, powerful man. 16 562

  • Black hair; its length and styling change over time, from a short tuft to long hair tied behind his head. 95 183
  • A conspicuous flame-shaped mark on his left cheek. 95
  • Often wears a black robe and carries a greatsword on his back. 95
  • After major physical strengthening, his skin is described as smooth and crystalline, with transparent energy flowing beneath it. 562
  • His body can become crimson and flame-like when his fire-aligned power surges. 253

Personality

Diya is practical, restrained, and intensely survival-focused. He does not consider himself a good person; his personal rule is to survive, even if survival demands sacrifices other than his dignity. 326

He is generally calm under pressure and prefers testing, planning, or withdrawing over reckless confrontation. This is evident in his self-training, his development of new sword techniques, and his decision to flee enemies he cannot presently defeat. 14 109 266 333

As his power grows, Diya becomes increasingly proud, wild, and overbearing. Diablo's complete fusion and the Dark Elemental Spirit's curse intensify this tendency, though Diya still responds more moderately to people who treat him respectfully. 350

Abilities & Skills

Horadric Cube and Hell Fragments

The Horadric Cube is Diya's defining artifact and his connection to shattered Hell.

  • Stores items, though transferring objects consumes mental power; storing or retrieving the Flick Sword takes a significant portion of his reserves. 20
  • Synthesizes compatible items, such as three heavy swords into the Blue Rank Demonbreaker. 53
  • Allows access to Hell Fragment worlds and supports Diya's fusion with Hell Fragments, which strengthen his body and mental power. 19 50
  • Hell Fragment fusion can unlock new abilities, including summoning and powers transferable to spiritually marked allies. 50 357

Summoning

Diya can summon creatures from the Hell Fragment world using mental strength rather than magic power.

  • Summons Fallen such as creatures from the Blood Moor and controls them through thought. 50
  • Can summon stronger named monsters, including Bishibosh. 85
  • Has commanded large undead forces; Diana describes him as capable of summoning hundreds of undead archers and mages with Upper Guardian Rank combat strength. 150
  • Can grant compatible people demon-summoning ability by placing his spiritual seed within their spirits. 357

Battle Qi and Swordsmanship

Diya specializes in heavy-sword combat enhanced by multiple Battle Qi types.

  • Uses fire, lightning, thunder, and later Annihilation Battle Qi or Annihilation Battle Flame. 146 270 398
  • Developed Explosive Flame Sword Technique, using detonated Battle Qi to propel himself or add explosive force to a thrust. 109
  • Can fuse a portion of his Battle Qi into Annihilation Battle Qi, increasing its destructive power and control. 270 314
  • Uses Flame Sever and other heavy-sword techniques to fight opponents above his apparent rank. 333 473
  • Learned Aurora's Thorn, a speed-focused sword technique that sacrifices defense; he later developed Aurora's Thorn Blast/Burst for area attacks and Aurora's Thorn Pierce for concentrated, sound-wave-penetrating attacks. 562 564 568

Hellfire and Nether Prison Thunder

Diablo's divided powers manifest through Diya after their fusion.

  • Hellfire can heal severe wounds, ignite large-scale destruction, and burn enemies or structures. 171 282 283
  • Nether Prison Thunder can kill powerful enemies and weaken ghosts. 123 337
  • Hellfire and Nether Prison Thunder grow alongside Diya's overall strength rather than through separate cultivation. 621
  • Diya is highly resistant to fire, lightning, and darkness-element attacks due to Hellfire, Nether Prison Thunder, and the Dark Elemental Spirit's curse; light remains a greater threat. 474

Soul Path and Illusion Arts

Diya's soul cultivation eventually becomes one of his strongest disciplines.

  • His soul power can scan enormous areas and remain undetected by anyone below divine rank. 618 619
  • Illusion Control traps opponents' minds in constructed worlds or corridors, allowing Diya to identify true bodies, dominate targets, or destroy their souls. 559 563
  • Uses the Space Soul Path to pull distant targets directly to him through space. 606
  • Creates a first avatar by dividing his soul, allowing the avatar to cultivate the Soul Path while his main body trains Battle Qi and physical strength. 618 621

Physical Strength and Absorption

Diya's body is repeatedly reinforced through cultivation, Hell Fragment fusion, and absorbed energy.

  • Possesses rapid healing, first observed after minor injuries during Flick Sword training. 14
  • Can wield a hundred-jin heavy sword with ease and later defeats high-level enemies with barehanded strength. 53 570
  • The Demonic Evil Greatsword can absorb blood and life force from enemies, strengthening Diya and the weapon. 275 473
  • Cannot always absorb stronger targets directly; a monster whose strength exceeded his resisted absorption from its severed tentacles. 573
  • Self-Berserk raises his power by more than tenfold during its second recorded activation. 595

Movement Techniques

  • Void-Reversing Step breaches spatial restrictions for short-range movement, but heavily damages Diya's body if used too often or beyond its current range. 244
  • Chaotic Steps is an irregular evasive footwork method developed while fleeing the Sword Demon; its unpredictable pattern makes targeting him difficult but places heavy strain on his body. 266

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Horadric Cube — Soul-bound artifact used for storage, synthesis, Hell access, and fragment fusion. 11 20 53

  • Demonbreaker — Blue Rank heavy sword synthesized from three refined-steel swords; possesses the special attribute Sharpness. 53
  • Demonic Evil Greatsword — Diya's principal later weapon; drains blood and life force and undergoes a powerful mutation after consuming demonic energy. 473 573
  • Repulsion Ring — Defensive accessory frequently used before dangerous fights; Diya later treats such rings as common due to the quantity he acquires. 244 284
  • Spatial rings — Used alongside the Cube for carrying equipment and valuables. 120 159
