Wukong slowly closed his eyes, first transforming into Ultra Instinct Sign, then immediately into Ultra Instinct.
Baal clearly froze for a moment when he saw Wukong's Ultra Instinct.
Wukong's body began to radiate an even more intense light. Baal's expression turned grave. He could sense Sun Wukong's power, and that power forced him to reassess the strength of this warrior.
Wukong and Baal's fists slammed into each other without either side giving an inch. They reveled in the thrill that battle brought.
As the fight went on, Sun Wukong gradually began to gain the upper hand. Using his speed and strength, he successfully suppressed Baal's offense.
But Baal had not activated his strongest state at all. He only said to Wukong, "You're a lot like someone. That person was the progenitor of you Saiyans, but you don't have his wildness."
"Who is this person you're talking about? The progenitor of us Saiyans?"
Baal said nothing, as if the matter had never been mentioned at all.
The desert wind carried a scorching heat, whipping up waves of dust and sand that struck Sun Wukong and Baal's skin like countless tiny needles.
Baal stopped pretending as well. He stood where he was and began to roar, just like a Saiyan transforming. As he roared, the energy he emitted actually pushed Wukong's body slowly backward.
Wukong raised his hands in front of his face. Because of the terrain, the energy Baal released formed a storm like a tornado, filled with nothing but countless grains of sand. The moment Wukong opened his eyes, endless sand would pour into them, making him extremely uncomfortable.
Before long, the storm stopped. Bone spurs had grown from Baal's arms, and more had grown from his legs. Something like a helmet appeared on his forehead, and his eyes had fused with that helmet-like thing. A tail grew out from his back, but it had no flesh, only bone, making him look like a skeletal warrior.
"This is my true body. Let me show you my strength!"
A cold smile tugged at the corner of Baal's mouth. His body suddenly vanished from where he stood, and in the next instant, he appeared in front of Sun Wukong, driving a heavy punch into him.
Wukong only felt a tremendous force crash into him. Baal's speed was clearly no longer something his current Ultra Instinct could keep up with. The punch sent him flying far back, his feet carving deep tracks through the desert.
Wukong gathered his strength and transformed again. Wings grew from his back, and Baal, standing before him, looked a little stunned. Although he had seen many enemies, this was the first time he had seen anyone use Saiyan energy together with Angel Energy.
"What form is that? Why can you evolve into an angelic form on top of Ultra Instinct? Are you an angel candidate?"
"I'm not an angel candidate. I'm a mortal chosen by an angel, but I won't inherit an angel's position."
Baal half understood and half didn't. Seeing that Wukong had completed his transformation, he also took a fighting stance. It was clear he was still quite polite.
Their battle continued in the desert. Every attack shook the sandy ground, and the creatures in the desert all sensed that overwhelming power. One after another, they fled, searching for safe shelter.
Wukong and Baal exchanged punch for punch, but if anyone was suffering more, it was definitely Baal. After all, the reaction speed of half-winged Ultra Instinct was even more absurd than Ultra Instinct, not to mention that it was built on Wukong having Meditation Power as a foundation.
The instant Baal attacked, Wukong seized the opportunity and vanished from the spot. Baal raised his head and searched around him, and soon Wukong came down from the sky in a flying-kick posture, slamming a vicious kick into Baal's head.
That blow was a bit much for Baal to take too, but in the end, he ran with Zalama. Though the force of the attack was heavy, it was still within an acceptable range.
Wukong then teleported to the ground and drove his knee hard into Baal's stomach. Baal quickly used his hands to shield his abdomen, preventing the blow from fully landing, but he was still shaken by Wukong's remaining force.
Although Baal had entered his strongest state, looking at the Saiyan in front of him who only seemed to get more fired up the longer they fought, he could not help exclaiming, "Why does your stamina keep increasing the more you fight?"
Wukong smiled and did not answer him. He only deliberately lowered his speed and exposed an opening. He wanted Baal to fire a beam, then use his new arm to absorb it before releasing a Kamehameha. With Wukong's current strength, he could only suppress Baal for a short time. If he wanted to defeat him completely, he still needed to use Baal's own power to beat him.
But the more Wukong exposed openings, the more Baal wanted to defeat him with martial arts. After all, his second form had been cultivated specifically for hand-to-hand combat. Who could have thought he would now be suppressed by Wukong in that very field?
Seeing that exposing openings was useless, Wukong had no choice but to use Kamehameha himself to finish Baal off.
Soon, Wukong found an opportunity, shifted position, and took a horse stance, driving his feet hard into the ground. He brought his hands together, condensing a powerful force between them, locked onto his target, and blasted out a beam of light.
When Baal saw the attack, he instead let out a cold laugh. Then he raised his arm, holding it upright to block.
After Wukong used Kamehameha, wisps of white smoke rose around Baal's body. But the rule in Dragon Ball was that smoke meant no damage, and Baal was naturally no exception. Using his bone spurs, he forcibly sliced Wukong's Kamehameha in half.
The center had been cut open, so how much damage could the remaining shockwave do to Baal? At most, it only made him look a little dirtier. And when Wukong saw that even his best technique could do nothing to him, he was utterly baffled.
Just then, Wukong sensed Vegeta's aura suddenly surge, and it was rushing toward him at an extremely fast speed.
