In the future timeline, West City lay damaged and shrouded in smoke.

Beneath the sparks raining down from the sky, Kashius shielded Buds behind him. Though he had rested for only a few minutes, that was enough for someone with his physique to recover more than half his strength.

"I'll do my best to take care of Salam and the others in a moment. Find a good place to hide." After giving Buds a reminder over his shoulder, Kashius frowned and stared at Salam, Zack, and the third man as they steadily retreated.

It seemed they understood that the situation had changed. Without Liu Ge to hold Kashius back, they had no chance of matching him.

"I can do it too, Father. I can fight just like you. I'm a Saiyan too. I'm not afraid of fighting—I even crave it."

"What nonsense are you talking about? This isn't the time for you to be stubborn. You're still young. These burdens shouldn't be yours to bear." Kashius looked Buds straight in the eye. "Unless all the adults are dead!"

"Shut up. Just do as you're told. Why do you have so many questions? What a rebellious child. You're not nearly as sensible as I was when I was little." Kashius cut Buds off, curled his index finger, and rapped him hard on the head.

Buds didn't dare dodge. He hunched his head down, looking utterly wronged.

Kashius wasn't Bulma. He was Buds's biological father, so naturally Buds didn't dare resist.

Then, just as Kashius clenched his fist and prepared to seize the chance to instantly kill either Salam or Zack, circular ripples spread out behind him. They made him abruptly halt just as he was about to move.
