Background and History

Lazuli was born to Raya alongside her brother Lapis. The Red Ribbon Army's pursuit of Raya forced the family to hide their original names; Lazuli became known as Mana, while Lapis used the name Nasca. Raya later sheltered Kashius, who became close to the family and eventually became Mana's fiancé. Kashius's repeated unexplained departures left Lapis resentful and Mana desperate for him to return. 141

The Red Ribbon Army captured Lazuli and Lapis for Dr. Gero's experiments. Gero erased most of their memories, implanted an order to hunt Son Goku, renamed them Android 17 and Android 18, and planned to control them with emergency shutdown measures and internal bombs. 155 190 215

Fragments of Lazuli's memories of Kashius resurfaced after her activation.
