Hagrid, Who Grew Up on Veritaserum
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
Upon hearing Ron's statement, Hagrid waved his hands repeatedly, indicating that it was completely impossible.
"Snape is a professor at Hogwarts, how could he do such a thing!"
Hagrid shouted as he opened the door to the hut, urging Lucien and the others to come in and warm up.
Seeing that Hagrid didn't believe Ron, Hermione added:
"But we really saw it! Snape was staring at Harry the whole time, and his mouth was opening and closing constantly, clearly chanting a spell!"
"Hagrid, I've read in books that when casting a curse, you must maintain eye contact with the target, and Snape fits that description perfectly!"
Hearing even the most earnest and meticulous little witch, Hermione, say this, Hagrid felt even more helpless, and shrugged.
"Then tell me, why did Snape target Harry?"
This question left Ron and the others speechless.
After a long pause, Harry adjusted his glasses and said sheepishly:
"At the beginning of the semester, Snape did target me a lot, but later..."
As Harry spoke, he glanced at Lucien, who had taken off his glasses during Potions Class ever since he took Lucien's advice and drank the Vision-Clearing Potion.
Harry felt that Snape's attitude towards him had completely changed.
In the beginning, Harry couldn't escape Snape's sarcastic remarks and was thoroughly ridiculed.
However, Snape simply asked Harry questions frequently during class.
Having been studying potions under Lucien's guidance, Harry made rapid progress in this area.
He was able to answer most of Snape's questions.
"Ahem, it's fine in class, but when I'm walking around campus and run into Snape, he... well..."
"The way he looks at me is always... very strange?"
"And outside of class, Snape also liked to find all sorts of reasons to deduct points from my grades."
Lucien took a sip of the barley tea Hagrid had poured, inwardly grumbling.
That goes without saying. Apart from your eyes and potion-making talent, which are most like your mother, everything else, including your appearance and behavior, is exactly like your father.
Even when not in Potions Class, Harry would still wear his glasses, which not only prevented Snape from seeing those eyes clearly but also reminded him of James Potter.
The man who humiliated Snape and stole Lily from him.
Snape doesn't deduct points from Harry, whose points should he deduct?
Oh no, he would deduct points equally from all houses except Slytherin.
Well, I haven't lost any points on myself.
Lucien glanced at Harry, and a very abstract idea suddenly popped into his mind.
If I could develop a potion or spell that could change gender, I could make Harry use it, dye his hair the same red as Weasley's, and take off his glasses too.
Haha, I wonder if Snape can hold on.
Perhaps because of the changes brought about by Lucien, Snape's targeting of Harry wasn't as severe.
While Harry and his friends had some doubts about Snape, they didn't take it too seriously.
"Well, even putting aside this Quidditch, it feels like a lot has been going on at school lately."
"Troll on Halloween Eve! How could such a monster get into the school?!"
"That's not all! Besides the Troll, there's also a huge dog with three heads in one of the rooms!"
"Ron, didn't I tell you that's called Three-Headed Dog?"
Hearing the three children chatting, Hagrid looked up in surprise.
How do you know about Fluffy?
Aside from Lucien, who was leisurely sipping his tea, Harry, Harry, and the others all looked at Hagrid and asked in unison:
"Fluffy?"
"Uh, that's, that's my pet."
Hagrid scratched his messy hair and mumbled:
"I bought it from a Greek; it's a very cute little fellow. Dumbledore borrowed it to guard..."
"Where's the cuteness! That dog almost bit Harry's hand off—"
Harry grabbed Ron and covered Ron's mouth tightly with his hand.
Only the three of them and Lucien knew about this; Harry didn't want anyone else to know about this embarrassing incident.
"What! Harry, what's wrong? Let me see!"
Hagrid slammed his large teacup on the table, grabbed Harry's arm anxiously, and rolled up his sleeves to examine it.
"Oh dear, why didn't you say so sooner? Three-Headed Dog's teeth are cursed with Dark Magic!"
"Fluffy is a child, and he seems prone to accidentally hurting people. I need to talk to Dumbledore, even if it was between him and Nicolas Flamel— "
Halfway through his sentence, Hagrid realized he had said something he shouldn't have and quickly shut his mouth.
After examining Harry's arms, they found that although they were thin and slender, there were no wounds or scars.
Hagrid sat back down, scratching his head in confusion.
"Strange, I'm fine. Dumbledore asked me before, ' Harry, are you injured?' He didn't say anything specific, but..."
However, no one answered Hagrid, so he looked up and glanced around, noticing that the young wizards were all looking at him differently.
Harry was embarrassed. He understood; it seemed that Headmaster Dumbledore already knew about his bite from Three-Headed Dog.
Ron carefully nibbled on his Rock Cake, listening to the conversation with a mixture of bewilderment and clarity.
Hermione opened her mouth as if to speak, but then remained silent.
Lucien already had a half-smile on his face.
Hagrid must have grown up drinking Veritaserum.
You can entrust your life to him, but you absolutely cannot keep secrets.
In fact, Dumbledore entrusted this task to Hagrid with the intention of having Hagrid leak information to Harry and the others.
Dumbledore, he just loves to be so accurate in his calculations.
"Hagrid, and who is Nicolas Flamel?"
Finally, Hermione couldn't resist her curiosity and asked directly, and Harry and Ron also realized what was happening and looked at Hagrid.
"No, it's nothing. That's top secret, a secret, understand?"
Hagrid picked up his large teacup and gulped down a mouthful of tea, trying to hide his unease.
No matter how much Harry and the others pressed or probed, Hagrid only responded with nods and shakes of his head, not daring to utter another word.
After a while of this back and forth, the three little ones finally couldn't stand it anymore and suggested leaving first.
They couldn't wait to find out the truth!
Lucien watched this scene, a barely perceptible smile playing on his lips.
Great, we're one step closer to the Sorcerer's Stone.
By the time they truly understood the Sorcerer's Stone, it was almost after Christmas.
I'll find an opportunity to mention it to Dumbledore later, to see if I can get my hands on the Sorcerer's Stone ahead of time.
Lucien stayed behind and chatted with Hagrid for a while, and this time Hagrid finally said a few words.
Lucien did not return to the castle after leaving the cabin.
Instead, they took a detour and headed towards the Forbidden Forest.
"Liuguang."
The figure of the little Qilin appeared directly beside Lucien.
Lucien stroked the increasingly thick mane on Liuguang's shoulders and neck, and said softly:
"Take me to see Selenia; the Unicorn's due date should be within two months."
