Another Year of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Lockhart's Plan
Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom.
Wearing a pale gold robe with medals pinned to his chest, Lockhart stood at the podium, holding up a book and pointing to a photograph on the cover. The photograph and the man in it both smiled in unison.
"Although this is my first time teaching you all, I believe you all know me. Out of respect for teaching, let me formally introduce myself: Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, five-time winner of the Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award..."
"Hehe, of course, a charming smile can't deter Werewolf."
Lockhart was about to boast a little more about "his" experiences, but after seeing Lucien sitting below, he felt inexplicably uneasy.
"Ahem, let's start with a short quiz. Don't worry, it's just to see if you've done your homework beforehand."
Unlike other teachers who use magic to make the test papers fly to the young wizards' desks automatically, Lockhart handed them out one by one by hand, an act that seemed to elicit small cheers from some of his female admirers.
After receiving the test paper, Lucien began to write.
However, upon closer inspection, one can discover that it is actually the quill pen itself that is writing with Lucien's hand attached.
This is Lucien's self-developed reading comprehension quill pen, which can automatically answer questions after you input the knowledge. It can only be used for fill-in-the-blank and multiple-choice questions.
However, it's enough to handle Lockhart's quizzes, because the questions he designs are all like:
What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite flower?
"Which adventure was key to Gilderoy Lockhart earning the Order of Merlin...?"
These are all examples of the original themes that can be found in his "autobiographies".
It must be said that the adventure stories recorded in those books are very exciting, and the measures taken to deal with dark Magical Creatures are actually quite useful.
After all, the original protagonists of those stories actually experienced them, but Lockhart simply stole them from their minds.
But Lockhart's actions were too personal; who cares what Christmas presents he wants?
Lucien really didn't want to fill his mind with this kind of garbage knowledge.
Soon, the Auto-Answer Quill helped him complete this bizarre and annoying test paper.
After collecting all the exam papers, Lockhart began grading them on the spot.
To Lockhart's surprise, the only student to get a perfect score was Lucien Grafton.
Lockhart hesitated. Could it be that he was actually an admirer, but just introverted, which made him seem aloof and unapproachable?
Upon announcing the test results, Lockhart awarded Ravenclaw a ten-point bonus.
Because of the House-elf disaster that happened when Lockhart taught Harry and the others before, he didn't bring any magical creatures to demonstrate this time, not even those with a low level of danger, because he couldn't handle them anyway!
Defense Against the Dark Arts is a very profound subject; while theory is important, practice is equally indispensable...
Hearing Lockhart say this, some of the less informed young wizards looked on with anticipation. They were tired of listening to Quirrell read his textbooks last year, and a year had passed without them learning a single proper trick to deal with Dark Magic!
It seems that Lockhart, this year's Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts with his rich experience, will bring a different kind of classroom experience!
"So I will personally recount my experiences dealing with those dark Magical Creatures. Although I am a writer, words can never be as vivid and real as spoken words. That trip to Tibet, the savagery and stupidity of the Yeti..."
The young wizards who had been holding onto their hopes almost couldn't contain themselves. Was this... right?
A few Lockhart fans, however, listened with great interest.
Lockhart's storytelling was more engaging than Quirrell's last year, and the stories were more interesting than those in the textbook.
As Lockhart spoke, his interest was clearly piqued.
"Any classmates willing to join me in reenacting that adventure? I believe it will be a unique experience for everyone!"
Lockhart noticed Lucien with his head down and prepared to call this "introverted" classmate up so he could get closer to his idol.
"Grafton, would you like to come up on stage and play the Yeti, the one from the Snow Mountain Showdown?"
Upon hearing this, Lucien raised his head, smiled, and looked at Lockhart.
"Teacher, there's no need for that. If it's a Yeti, I can conjure it up for you if you need it."
As he spoke, Lucien took out his wand, a faint glow gathering at its tip.
Upon seeing this, Lockhart suddenly felt a pang of fear and quickly raised his hand to stop him.
"Oh no, we don't need to use wands in our classes; that's not elegant enough."
Lockhart was worried that although a young wizard of this age couldn't use any powerful magic, if he accidentally hit Lockhart's handsome face, it would damage his image.
Lockhart then quickly replaced the student with another, who performed a very poorly acted play.
When the bell rang, Lockhart gave the student some encouragement and praise, and then assigned homework:
The assignment is to write a reflection on my feat of defeating the Yeti, and the best-written piece will receive an autographed copy of "Magical Me."
After saying that, Lockhart dismissed the class and returned to his office next door.
After looking in the mirror for a few minutes, adjusting his hairstyle, collar, and cuffs from every angle, and practicing his signature smile a few times, Lockhart nodded in satisfaction.
"Another perfect lesson."
Lockhart didn't notice that an ordinary robin had appeared above the locker, its bright black eyes revealing a human-like speechlessness.
He's definitely more narcissistic in private.
Lucien, Transfiguration a robin, thought to himself, "I'm getting impatient."
After brewing a cup of black tea, Lockhart sat down at the table and took out a faded diary from a locked drawer.
The robin's eyes gleamed the moment he saw the diary.
Lockhart was seen holding a huge Peacock Quill, writing and pausing in his diary.
At the same time, he was talking to himself:
"There's a Chamber of Secrets in the school, and a monster is hiding inside..."
"Oh, so monsters can be controlled..."
"Yes, control the monsters to create some events, causing chaos, and then Lockhart will appear as the hero to drive the monsters away!"
"Yes, yes, this is a real adventure that everyone can see. It will save a group of young wizards and the future of the Wizarding World. Oh, and maybe this will earn me another Order of Merlin. Level three is still too low..."
The robin on the wardrobe listened quietly to Lockhart's plans.
