The Eye of Magic Sight's New Abilities
Hagrid's Hut was warm and cozy, with the fireplace providing warmth that kept out the wind, snow, and bitter cold outside.
The air was filled with the aroma of Rock Cake and black tea.
Hagrid wiped his eyes, his voice trembling slightly:
"... Thank you so much, Lucien. If it weren't for you, I probably would have really had to go to Azkaban."
He couldn't help but shiver.
"That place is no place for a human to live! Those Dementor are terrifying..."
"Dementor?" Ron asked curiously, sitting beside him. "What are those?"
Hermione immediately picked up the conversation and started explaining:
"They are the guardians of Azkaban, Magical Creatures. They can suck away a person's happy memories, leaving you only with the most painful ones. They can even give you a ' Dementor's Kiss,' sucking your soul out of your body..."
Harry and Ron turned pale upon hearing this and instinctively shrank back.
"Hey! Don't worry," Hagrid quickly reassured them, trying to make his voice sound light, "As long as you behave and don't get into trouble and end up in Azkaban, you won't run into those things!"
Lucien picked up his teacup, took a sip silently, and muttered to himself.
No need to go to Azkaban, you can see them at Hogwarts next year.
Hagrid's spirits quickly lifted, his face glowing.
"The truth from fifty years ago has come to light, Ministry of Magic has officially notified me that I am permitted to buy a new wand from Ollivander! From now on, I can use magic openly!"
Ron blinked, as if suddenly remembering something, and turned to look at Harry:
"Wait, Hagrid, Harry told me that when you went to the Dursley family to pick him up, you seemed to conjure up a pig's tail for that annoying cousin of his?"
Hagrid's large, hairy face turned pale instantly, and he frantically waved his hands.
Shh—it was an accident! You absolutely mustn't tell anyone! Just pretend it never happened, okay?
They all swore in unison that they wouldn't tell anyone.
Harry, Harry, and his friends were still a little confused, but Lucien's gaze fell on the conspicuous pink umbrella on Hagrid's bedside table.
Although Hagrid's wand was broken by the Ministry of Magic fifty years ago, it was secretly repaired by Dumbledore using the Elder Wand and has been hidden in the Umbrella for disguise.
During their conversation, Hermione glanced at Lucien and noticed that his dark green eyes seemed even deeper than usual.
As soon as their eyes met, she suddenly felt a slight stinging pain in her eyes, and couldn't help but close them, letting out a soft hiss.
Noticing Hermione's unusual behavior, Lucien asked:
"What's wrong?"
Hermione shook her head and rubbed her eyes:
"It's nothing... it's just that looking into your eyes feels a little strange."
Harry nodded in agreement.
"I had that feeling just now too, and for some reason I was afraid to look directly at someone?"
Upon hearing this, Ron, skeptical, leaned closer to stare, but quickly turned his head away after only two seconds.
Hagrid said in a deep, muffled voice:
"I don't think so. He looks no different than usual."
Lucien seemed to be deep in thought, then took out a pair of silver-rimmed glasses from his pocket and put them on.
"And now?"
"Much better!"
Lucien quickly realized that this was because the Eye of Eye of Magic Sight Basilisk had just been modified with the Basilisk's eye, and the magic power had not been fully contained, causing it to inadvertently leak out.
Their original abilities have all been enhanced to varying degrees, including the ability to detect magical flow, dynamic vision, and microscopic scaling...
But what's most special is that these eyes have gained a new ability:
When someone makes eye contact with a living creature, the creature will become frozen in place to varying degrees.
It does resemble the Basilisk's Death Glare, but it's far less effective.
After all, he had only used the Basilisk's eye as material to modify it, and the wizard's Magic Circuit were completely different from the Basilisk's, so he could not completely reproduce the original owner's abilities.
Lucien conducted experiments using a rooster he borrowed from Hagrid.
If the eye contact continues for a sufficiently long time, the other person's stiffness will gradually increase, eventually leading to a fatal effect.
But this process is too slow!
He has to stare at a chicken for several seconds before bringing it to the brink of death.
Afterwards, he also made amends to the rooster by giving it a comfortable hot bath and fumigating it with various spices.
It does smell really good.
Lucien later discovered through experimentation that even a brief eye contact could cause varying degrees of stiffness depending on the other person's magical power.
Simply put, the stronger the opponent's magic, the weaker the stun effect.
Although I haven't tried the death effect, I can deduce that if Lucien wanted to kill anyone he glared at, he'd probably need to stock up on eye drops, because staring for too long would dry them out.
Lucien therefore felt that this ability was rather useless, and probably would have little impact on a truly powerful figure like Dumbledore.
This ability may also be related to the difference in magical power between oneself and the other party.
Lucien deduced that as long as his magic power was strong enough, the effects of stun or death would become stronger.
I'll wait until my own magic power has increased significantly before making a comparison and testing.
However, Lucien still believes this ability is only good for stomp games.
Facing someone much weaker than yourself, you can kill them with just a glance, but besides being handsome, you have no other advantages.
When facing an opponent of similar strength, the stun effect can create openings.
Lucien glanced at Hagrid, pondering why he hadn't felt anything earlier. One reason was that Lucien hadn't truly activated his Eye of Magic Sight, so it was just a simple dissipation of magic power. Another reason was that Hagrid, as Half-Giant, had extremely high magic resistance!
I always felt that Hagrid could kill a whole bunch of people even without a wand, even under the spells of other wizards.
The conversation quickly turned to winter break plans, and Lucien said he didn't plan to stay on campus this year.
After all, I have a lot of things to do outside.
Ron then excitedly said:
"I want to go home! George and Fred are saving up to buy me a new wand!"
"They saved up their money for a whole month! Even though they always tease me, they really act like big brothers when it matters!"
Harry listened, his eyes revealing undisguised envy; he had always longed for the lively and warm atmosphere of the Weasley family.
But Lucien's eyes showed a hint of doubt. Had the twins saved up for a month to buy Ron a wand?
One wand costs seven Galleon.
Is the salary I ask for really that low?
Oh, Ron, that kid...
