The Peeves shifted left and right, took a closer look at Lucien's face, then suddenly drifted away, did a somersault in the air, and floated to the window in the corridor.

"Ah, I remember now, you're Lucien — Lucien Grafton!" its voice rose a few decibels. "Those twins always mention you to me, ha ha! But you're usually too serious, more boring than many sixth or seventh-year wizards, no wonder you were sorted into Ravenclaw..."

"I won't ask you anymore! How could an honest, boring little wizard like you know how fun last night's prank was? It was really interesting! Even ghosts were affected. Moaning Myrtle stopped crying in the toilet, and Grey Lady even smiled at people..."

Listening to the chattering of the Peeves, Lucien felt his headache, which had eased slightly, worsen again, and his temples throbbed.

What did it just say about fog?

"Peeves! You're here! You're always running around and looking around!"

A sharp shout interrupted Lucien's thoughts and silenced Peeves ' commotion.

A gaunt ghost emerged from the wall.

He had a pair of empty eyes, staring straight at Peeves, his robe stained with Scabbers of silver blood that gleamed coldly in the morning light.

The ghost's wrists and ankles were shackled, but the shackles used to bind the living were clearly no match for a ghost's movements.

"Oh, Mr. Barrow, what brings you here—" Peeves's voice suddenly changed, sharp and panicked, "Ah, I just remembered I have something to do, I'll be going now!"

Before the words were even finished, it sprinted and flew towards the other end of the corridor, so fast that its hat fell off its head.

Even though it had already flown some distance, Peeves noticed that its hat was missing. It casually tossed Luna's necklace aside and reached back to retrieve it.

The hat flew back to its hand automatically—not by magic, but because the hat seemed to be an extension of Peeves ' body.

Immediately afterwards, the figure of the Peeves faded rapidly, as if erased by an eraser, and disappeared at the end of the corridor.

And by sheer coincidence, the necklace traced an arc in the air, about to fly out the window and fall outside the castle.

Luna could only watch helplessly as the necklace flew further and further away, preparing to embrace the free meadow outside the castle.

"The Necklace Accio (Accio Necklace)"

A soft incantation rang out.

Luna saw the necklace pause briefly in mid-air, as if it had been caught by an invisible hand.

The next second, it flew directly into Lucien's palm.

She blinked, because Lucien wasn't holding a wand; he had simply chanted a spell and waved his hand, and the necklace flew over, as if beckoning to an obedient little bird...

"Is this yours?"

Luna snapped out of her daze when Lucien asked her question and stepped forward to take the necklace.

"Thank you. Otherwise, I'd miss my morning class by the time I found the necklace."

Lucien waved his hand to indicate that he was welcome. He still had a headache and couldn't understand why the girl insisted on wearing a necklace to class.

The necklace was made from a Butterbeer bottle stopper. Butterbeer... um, I'm so thirsty...

Shaking his head to clear his mind of the jumbled thoughts, Lucien glanced at the end of the corridor, where the gaunt ghost was slowly sinking into the wall, the silver bloodstains on its robes faintly visible in the shadows.

The Bloody Baron, the house ghost of Slytherin.

The exact reason is unknown, but Peeves is terrified of Barrow.

Lucien looked away and was about to leave.

"Those mists," Luna suddenly spoke, her voice light and airy, "Were they something you conjured up Lucien?"

Lucien paused, turned around, and a look of astonishment crossed his eyes.

"What?"

Luna tilted her head, her clear silver eyes staring straight at Lucien, as if trying to see something deeper through his face.

That mist... it feels a lot like you.

"Regardless of appearance, it's wonderful that someone is a happy person at heart."

Lucien stood there, stunned.

Luna smiled, her big eyes narrowing slightly. "I hope you stay this happy forever."

This nonsensical statement is so illogical that even if Lucien were in a good mood, let alone with a headache, he probably wouldn't understand Luna's thoughts.

Lucien was confused.

So what happened last night?
