Hagrid: Me, a Professor?
Hagrid's Hut.
When Lucien announced that Hagrid would be Care of Magical Creatures next semester, Hagrid, Harry, and the other two were all taken aback.
But the next second, almost simultaneously, a look of surprise appeared on the faces of the three little ones.
"Hagrid!" Harry called out first, his voice rising a half-octave as he sat bolt upright in his chair, "Congratulations on becoming a professor!"
He was genuinely happy about this.
After the Chamber of Secrets incident was investigated and clarified, Hagrid's old case, in which he was wrongly accused, was also overturned.
Not only did he clear his name of decades of disgrace, but he was also able to regain a wand and become a wizard openly and legitimately.
And now, he's about to become a professor at Hogwarts.
Harry thought there couldn't be anything better!
Ron was grinning from ear to ear, revealing two rows of teeth, and he slammed the cup down on the table with a thud.
"Hey, that's great! Hagrid, you have a chance to become the most popular professor!"
His mind was already racing, calculating: Divination? He could probably just skip that.
Since Hagrid has become the professor of the Care of Magical Creatures, why not choose that course? With someone he knows teaching it, is passing the exam even a concern?
Maybe they won't even have to do their regular homework.
Moreover, the course itself is quite easy, at least in the third and fourth years.
His second brother, Charlie, said that during those two years in class, the most they encountered were 3X-level Magical Creatures, which were basically not dangerous and were like playing around.
The class consisted of feeding and grooming Magical Creatures, and Hagrid was such an easygoing person. Ron thought it sounded pretty good and couldn't help but look forward to it.
Hermione swung her little fist forcefully, her eyes sparkling:
"Great news, Hagrid! Why didn't you tell us? We should have celebrated this!"
She knew how skilled Hagrid was with Magical Creatures.
He could name and describe the habits of every creature that others would avoid, and he took care of them meticulously.
Hermione believes Hagrid will become the best professor of Care of Magical Creatures!
Three congratulatory voices came in succession, leaving Hagrid completely stunned.
He pointed to himself with his thick finger, looking completely bewildered.
"I'm going to teach Care of Magical Creatures next semester?"
After saying that, he turned to look at Lucien, his eyes filled with genuine confusion.
Hagrid had no idea he was going to be a professor.
Upon hearing this, Harry, Ron, and Hermione also turned to Lucien.
Several pairs of eyes held curiosity and doubt.
Lucien's heart skipped a beat. Oh no, he'd been so busy lately that he'd lost his mind.
I thought this matter was already settled, but I just blurted it out.
Speaking of which, it's almost the end of the semester, and Dumbledore still hasn't resolved the succession issue for the professor in charge of protecting Magical Creatures?
Or was Hagrid already booked, but they just didn't have time to inform him?
It's not impossible.
Dumbledore hasn't shown up at school for almost a month; he must be busy investigating Voldemort's origins and clues about the Horcrux, keeping himself extremely busy.
He'd almost finished improving his Wolfsbane Potion, but he hadn't even found a chance to tell Dumbledore.
The problem is how to explain this now...
Lucien scratched his cheek, feeling the others' gazes still fixed on him.
So he coughed lightly, trying to make his tone sound nonchalant:
"I overheard Headmaster Dumbledore mention that he had this plan. I think it's a sure thing, no problem."
After saying that, Lucien picked up his glass, took a sip, and used the rim of the glass to cover the lower half of his face.
Let's just say it this way, otherwise how can we explain it?
Could it be that "I can actually Prophecy the future and do Divination, and I foresaw Hagrid's future as a professor"?
