Background / History
Huang Tutian met Wang Ding on Welcoming Island while both sought admission to the Wongchuan Sect. A friendly, heavyset cultivator, he explained the sect’s age-based recruitment standards and revealed that he had reached the Innate Realm at age twenty-five. He and Wang Ding then traveled to the entrance competition together. 22 23
Both men successfully entered the Wongchuan Sect. Huang proposed that they look after one another, then invited Wang Ding to join a major mission alongside Dongfang Riyue and Long Lingyu, promising an opportunity connected to advancement into the Qi Gathering Realm. 25
Before entering Heavenly Void, Huang joined Wang Ding, Long Lingyu, and Dongfang Riyue as a four-person team. He supplied human-skin masks for disguises, contributed to the group’s planning, and consistently supported Wang Ding’s tactical decisions. 27 28 29
During the expedition, Huang helped hunt Heavenly Demons and Formed Bone Demons for merit and Inner Cores. He supported the group’s ambushes, agreed to pursue the Mystic Yin Yang-Resolving Flower, and pledged to assist Wang Ding against the Ice Prince despite the danger of killing a fellow sect member. 30 31 35 36 39
After discovering the inheritance of True Person Tianyi, Huang and his companions performed the master-disciple rite and memorized the Heavenly One True Scripture. Huang received the Heavenly Fire Bead, a Spirit Tool, as his share of the cave residence’s principal treasures. 34
The group’s extensive merit gains sharpened Huang’s understanding of martial mysteries. Following Heavenly Void’s closure, he sold materials with Wang Ding and purchased cultivation resources intended to improve his chance of reaching the Qi Gathering Stage. 42 45 46 When Wang Ding broke through first, Huang was initially shocked and envious, but resolved to enter seclusion until he could achieve the same realm. 48 49

He is loyal to his companions and treats their shared master-disciple bond seriously. When Wang Ding disclosed his conflict with the Ice Prince, Huang was the first to pledge assistance, framing their alliance as advancing and retreating together. 36
