Background

Peggy grew up as an isolated child prodigy. At eight years old, she had an IQ of 187, taught herself college-level material, and could solve complex calculations at a level Link described as a “human computer.” Her intelligence made it difficult for her to form friendships with peers, though she became noticeably happier after befriending her neighbor Link. 4 7

Her parents, Barry and Linda, later divorced. The conflict affected Peggy deeply, but Link attempted to lessen its impact by encouraging her enrollment at Wilmott Academy for Gifted Children.
