Story Role / Major Arcs

Half-Horn City and Magic Beast Hunt

Robert is assigned to accompany Du Wei south with two cavalry squads, including his own direct unit. He conducts the journey’s security arrangements and reluctantly permits Du Wei to join Knight Span’s mission into Half-Horn Mountain. 22

In the mountain, Robert serves as one of the expedition’s two strongest knights. He organizes the force against the Flame Rhinoceros, warns the group when its disappearance signals greater danger, and battles the transformed Storm Magic Wolf using battle aura. 23

When griffins overwhelm the expedition, Robert keeps the remaining guards organized. Believing their withdrawal impossible, he plans to lead a diversionary charge while Ruolin escorts Du Wei to safety. 24

Fear Illusion Demon Incident

While trapped in the Fear Illusion Demon’s illusion, Robert reveals the location of his battle-aura weak point when Du Wei asks. He does not evade Du Wei’s subsequent dagger strike, allowing Du Wei to break the illusion. 25

After a high-level mage appears seeking the captured demon, Robert immediately places Roland Family guards around Du Wei and invokes the family’s name while demanding the mage’s purpose. 25

Search for Du Wei

After Du Wei vanishes following the destruction at Half-Horn Mountain, Robert ignores his injuries and leads a search party back to the mountain. He assesses the immense magical devastation, keeps his subordinates focused on recovering Du Wei, and orders an expanded search and a report to the Roland Family castle. 29

He continues searching despite exhaustion, later urging Knight Golong to extend the operation beyond the initial three-hundred-li radius because of the enemy mage’s apparent power. 31
