Appearance

Cell is a humanoid android with a green carapace, prominent musculature, a long tail ending in a stinger, and crimson eyes. After absorbing Vegeta, his body becomes larger and darker, develops sharp horns, and manifests wing-like structures. 3 12 19

Personality

Cell is arrogant, sadistic, and intensely proud of his evolving power. He treats the suffering of powerful opponents as entertainment, taunts Son Goku during battle, and sees his own transformations as proof of superiority. 12 22 23

His confidence repeatedly turns to fear or fury when Chen Hao overwhelms him. Although he threatens revenge after retreating, he recognizes when he cannot win directly and withdraws to complete his fusion with Vegeta's power. 6 7 13 28

Story Role / Major Arcs

Hunt for Android 18

Cell appears while targeting Android 18, intending to absorb her. Vegeta deliberately permits the attempt because he wants to face Cell's evolved form, but Chen Hao intervenes and prevents the absorption. 3 4 5

Chen Hao counters Cell's Kamehameha with a Tenfold Kamehameha, severely injuring him and driving him into the sea. Cell later flees after realizing Chen Hao is beyond his ability to defeat. 6 7

Absorption of Vegeta

Cell returns with a stronger form and ambushes Vegeta. His transformed tail captures Vegeta and drains his energy despite Chen Hao's initial intervention. 11

After defeating Trunks, Cell fully absorbs Vegeta, killing him and gaining his power. Vegeta's will rebels inside Cell, however, forcing Cell to retreat and complete the fusion in hiding. 12 13

Perfect Form Battles

Once the fusion is complete, Cell confronts Chen Hao and Android 18 in Perfect Form. He believes Vegeta's power has made him invincible, but Chen Hao dismisses his strength and repeatedly suppresses him without transforming. 19 20 24 27

Cell fights Son Goku, initially matching him before revealing greater power and gaining the advantage. Chen Hao eventually interrupts their battle and forces Cell into retreat by demonstrating overwhelming strength. 22 23 24 28

Final Defeat

Cell later battles Gohan, who awakens Super Saiyan 2 and suppresses him. Refusing to accept defeat, Cell prepares to self-destruct and take Earth with him. 30

Chen Hao remains behind to confront Cell, transforms into Super Saiyan 4, and kills him with one punch before the explosion can occur. 31 32
