"Thank you, Master Roshi!" Wu Fei said sincerely.
"It's nothing. Compared to the favor you've done me, this is hardly worth mentioning!" Master Roshi replied.
Wu Fei nodded and looked around at everyone.
"Everyone, this is where we part ways!"
After saying that, Wu Fei was about to use the Flight Technique to leave.
"Please wait a moment, Mr. Wu Fei!"
"Will you be there when the Saiyans arrive a year from now?" Krillin asked cautiously.
"I will!"
Upon hearing Wu Fei's firm answer, Krillin immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
From what Goku had said earlier, Krillin had learned that one of the Saiyans arriving in a year would be more than ten times stronger than Raditz!
Yet Goku and Piccolo still had such an enormous gap in strength compared to Raditz!
And they only had one year to train. No one knew how much their strength could improve in that time.
Although Krillin had great faith in Goku, he still felt deeply pessimistic.
In his view, no matter how strong Goku became, it would be difficult for him to defeat the terrifyingly powerful Saiyans a year from now!
As for Wu Fei's strength, Krillin naturally knew all about it.
He could easily crush Raditz now, so a year later, he should be able to contend with the other two Saiyans as well.
Now that he knew Wu Fei would appear, Krillin finally felt reassured.
"Then we'll be counting on you, Mr. Wu Fei!" Krillin said.
"Alright! Everyone, see you in a year!"
Whoosh!
With the sound of wind tearing through the air, Wu Fei leaped into the sky and flew into the distance.
"That young man is very strong, and he clearly distinguishes right from wrong. It's a good thing for Earth to have such a powerful fighter."
"Truly, a new generation keeps rising. It really is time for me to retire!"
Master Roshi sighed emotionally.
Wu Fei arrived on a gigantic isolated island.
He planned to train here for the next year.
After so much time had passed, Wu Fei was starting to feel hungry.
Splash!
Jumping into the sea, Wu Fei easily caught a large fish.
After gathering some firewood and lighting a bonfire with a ki blast, Wu Fei began grilling the fish.
Crackle!
Oil sizzled from the fish as its surface turned golden brown.
It was obvious that the grilled fish was ready.
Wu Fei picked it up and took a huge bite.
Crispy on the outside and tender within—the heat was just right.
"Not bad!"
Wu Fei seemed very satisfied with the grilled fish he had made.
He had a large appetite, and before long, the entire fish had been devoured.
After eating and drinking his fill, Wu Fei sat quietly on the ground.
The system had not issued any tasks at the moment.
However, in Wu Fei's view, training was indispensable.
Although he now had a battle power as high as 5,000, he was still relatively unfamiliar with various combat techniques and could not use them proficiently.
He also needed to improve his mastery of the Kaio-ken and Kamehameha.
Wu Fei did not hesitate and immediately began his training journey.
At the same time, the Dragon Ball Z fighters also set out on their paths of training.
Son Goku arrived at Kami's Lookout and, under Kami's guidance, went to Other World to prepare for his journey to King Kai's Planet.
Piccolo directly took Gohan to a desolate wilderness and made him face the unknown alone.
However, Piccolo continued watching from the shadows to prevent Gohan from coming to harm.
Krillin and Yamcha returned to Kame Island, called Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu over, and began training in earnest as well.
All the Dragon Ball Z warriors trained diligently, all to become stronger and prepare for the crisis one year away.
The sky was blue, and the sun shone brightly.
Though the weather was beautiful, the ground below was scarred beyond recognition, long since reduced to ruins.
Amid the wreckage lay a pile of strange-looking lifeforms, but these aliens had already become corpses.
Beside the heap of bodies sat two people.
One was tall and bald.
The other was short and had a thick head of hair.
What they had in common was that they wore the same type of Scouter, and each had a tail wrapped around his waist!
Their outfits were identical to Raditz's!
Clearly, they were the Saiyans Raditz had mentioned—Vegeta and Nappa!
"Hmph! Raditz was utterly useless! He couldn't even conquer a tiny planet like Earth! What a disgrace to us Saiyans!"
Nappa's words dripped with contempt.
"And that guy who beat Raditz—I'll make sure to teach him a lesson!"
"Even if his battle power is 3,000, he's no match for me!"
Nappa appeared extremely confident.
Raditz's Scouter had exploded, so the simple-minded Nappa assumed Wu Fei's battle power was only slightly above 3,000.
His own battle power was as high as 4,000, more than enough to crush Wu Fei!
"Prince Vegeta, we've conquered this planet. We can depart now, right?"
Nappa's tone was exceedingly respectful.
"Fine! Let's go!"
"To be honest, I'm rather interested in the guy who defeated Raditz too!"
"And I'm sure that planet called 'Earth' can fetch a good price as well!"
"Hahaha!"
Vegeta laughed loudly as he walked toward a crater not far away.
Inside the crater were two small spacecraft, identical to the one Raditz had ridden in!
Vegeta and Nappa boarded the spacecraft and closed the hatches. After setting the programs, the ships officially took off.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
In the vast, boundless universe, the two spacecraft steadily drew closer to Earth.
Meanwhile, Vegeta and Nappa conserved their strength.
One year later, they would arrive on Earth!
The Dragon Ball Z warriors continued training diligently, not daring to slack off in the slightest.
At the same time, their results grew better and better.
When Goku had first arrived on King Kai's Planet, even moving under ten times gravity had been extremely difficult.
But gradually, he began to adapt to the intensity of tenfold gravity.
Even King Kai's pets, Bubbles and Gregory, could no longer keep up with Goku.
As his cultivation improved significantly, Goku began learning techniques such as the Kaio-ken and Spirit Bomb from King Kai.
Gohan, meanwhile, slowly changed from timid and weak into someone independent and strong. Now, he was a ruthless kid who chased after giant dinosaurs with a blade.
Besides that, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and the others had also made obvious improvements in strength.
Wu Fei had not slacked off in his training either. He could now skillfully wield all kinds of fighting techniques.
Furthermore, he had become increasingly proficient in using the Kaio-ken and Kamehameha.
Aside from becoming more skilled with his techniques, Wu Fei's battle power was also steadily increasing.
In his spare time between training, Wu Fei would do other things as well.
He built himself a "mountain villa," studied all kinds of cuisine, and occasionally went sightseeing in the big city.
Besides that, Wu Fei would fish on the island—not for any particular reason, but simply to cultivate his temperament.
And Wu Fei felt that fish he caught himself tasted better than fish he simply grabbed!
Any fish he could not finish, Wu Fei would take to sell, enjoying a taste of ordinary life.
Though such days were somewhat dull, they were also quite fulfilling.
In Wu Fei's view, although this peaceful life lacked grand and stirring waves, it was still quite nice.
As the days passed, the Saiyans' arrival drew ever closer.
