"Looks like this is my fault!"

When Shouchen suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, on the spot, Liu Dongqing's face twitched sharply for an instant.

Shouchen's sigh of "man proposes, Heaven disposes" was not wrong, but he had become too absorbed in the moment. Believing that the human-path killing tribulation and earth-path killing tribulation had both completely passed, he had focused far too intently when facing the heavenly-path killing tribulation.

So much so that Shouchen had become somewhat blind to his own situation.

But as a "bystander," Liu Dongqing saw more clearly and understood more clearly at this moment.

It was his gaze that had indirectly affected Shouchen.

Or, more precisely, it was his sword pupils that had affected Shouchen.

The sword qi originating from himself had influenced all of Shouchen's senses!

If this had been an uninhibited, exhilarating display of Dao and law, then the instant the sword qi manifested in the world, Shouchen would have understood something no matter how concentrated he was.

But as it happened, this was merely an ocular art. The workings of every Dao art were wholly concealed deep within his pupils, only merging into Liu Dongqing's gaze at the very end.

It was no exaggeration to say

that when Liu Dongqing wielded Dao and law with utmost concealment, he could truly leave almost no trace at all!

Thus, when Liu Dongqing's gaze fell upon him, the sword qi seemed present and absent at once. It genuinely affected all of Shouchen's senses, yet it did not make the utterly focused man wary of anything external.

Instead, under a stimulus almost like a blade pressed against his back, he instinctively followed the influence of that sword qi and summoned forth, within his thoughts and mind, the remembered image of that earthshaking sword strike.
