Kano shut his eyes tight and fully activated Life Vision. A huge figure wreathed in the aura of hell was rapidly slithering toward him.
The robes on his body transformed into armor, covering the little unicorn beneath him as well.
Kano took his bow in hand, nocked two arrows, and powerful magic began to coil around them.
His presence blended into the surroundings. Dumbledore had already extinguished his wand. Kano intended to spring an ambush and take out the Basilisk's eyes first.
The Basilisk poked its head out from the statue's opening, its massive triangular head squeezing through with some difficulty.
At that moment, two magic armor-piercing arrows shot out at once, streaking straight for the Basilisk's eyes.
Before the Basilisk could react, the two arrows had already pierced its eyeballs and exploded into fragments inside them.

But it quickly shook off the pain and began slithering frantically around the plaza, constantly flicking its tongue in search of Kano, who had hurt it.
"Snakes have poor eyesight and hearing, but they can use their tongues to detect scent molecules. They can also sense the infrared radiation emitted by living creatures."
"The Basilisk must differ from ordinary snakes. For instance, its eyesight is definitely good. But in other respects, perhaps they aren't so different."
There was very little information on the Basilisk, so Kano could only infer its traits from the habits of ordinary snakes.
Just as Kano fired a third arrow at the Basilisk's half-open mouth, it suddenly jerked its head aside. The arrow struck the side of its face, scattering sparks.
The Basilisk bared its teeth viciously and charged
