Background

Lin Mo was reborn on Douluo Continent after dying shortly after entering university in his previous life. Familiar with the Douluo novels, he used his knowledge of the setting to plan for future opportunities and threats. 1

His parents were Angel Legion company commanders and Soul Emperors who died during an operation against evil soul masters when Lin Mo was one year old. He was raised in Spirit Hall's orphanage before Qian Daoliu brought him to the Enshrinement Hall at age two. 1

Growing up alongside Qian Renxue made the two childhood sweethearts. Lin Mo also received early body-tempering instruction, medicinal baths, and spiritual medicines through Golden Crocodile Douluo. 1 4

At his awakening, Lin Mo publicly manifested the Light Phoenix with innate full soul power. His hidden second martial soul, the Heart of Darkness, repeatedly clashed with the Light Phoenix's opposing attributes, causing potentially fatal backlash. 2 8 14

Qian Daoliu discovered Lin Mo's twin martial souls and taught him to cultivate neutral soul power, temporarily easing the conflict. Lin Haosheng later warned that this was not a permanent solution and gave Lin Mo the Yin-Yang Twinborn Grass to establish a more stable internal balance. 15 29 36
