Background

Lin Haosheng is the elder brother of Lin Mo's paternal grandfather. Because Lin Mo's grandfather died from illness after Lin Mo's father was born, and Lin Mo's grandmother later died of grief, Haosheng raised Lin Mo's father, Lin Ce. He never married or had descendants, having devoted his early life to pursuing the peak of soul mastery. 28

As a Soul Douluo, Haosheng ventured alone into the depths of the Star Dou Great Forest and killed a Golden Eagle Emperor that had just survived its heavenly tribulation. He forcibly absorbed its hundred-thousand-year soul ring, gaining immense power but permanently draining his life force and ending his chance of reaching Rank 99. 28

He was in life-or-death seclusion attempting to break through to Rank 99 when Lin Mo's parents were killed by evil soul masters. By the time he emerged, Lin Mo was already four years old. Enraged, he intended to massacre Slaughter City, but Qian Daoliu stopped him and informed him of Lin Mo's existence. 28

At Qian Daoliu's request, Haosheng meets Lin Mo at the Angel Legion's martyrs' cemetery and reveals their relationship. He pledges to protect the Lin family bloodline for as long as he lives. 27 28 30
