Background / History

Qian Xunji is Qian Daoliu's son, Qian Renxue's father, and Bibi Dong's former master. His abuse of Bibi Dong, whom he had taken as a disciple, is condemned by Qian Daoliu as a disgrace to the Angel Family. Despite this, Qian Xunji insists that he loves her and believes he can make her accept him. 4

He is absent from Qian Renxue's crucial martial soul awakening ceremony alongside Bibi Dong, deeply disappointing his daughter and angering Qian Daoliu. 1 When Bibi Dong later slaps the six-year-old Qian Renxue, Qian Xunji intervenes only by asking whether she has gone mad; he shows more impatience than concern and does not check on Qian Renxue's injury. 2

Qian Daoliu orders him to handle Bibi Dong's situation without allowing it to affect Qian Renxue. Qian Xunji agrees and displays sincere loyalty to the Angel God's restoration after learning that Qian Renxue's innate level twenty soul power gives her a path toward godhood. 4

Following Bibi Dong's attempted murder of Qian Renxue and Lin Mo, Qian Daoliu orders Qian Xunji to kill her. Unable to comply, Qian Xunji instead threatens Yu Xiaogang, then imprisons Bibi Dong after she begs him to spare Yu. He ultimately plans to cripple her and keep her as a captive. 34 By Chapter 37, Bibi Dong has been imprisoned in the dungeon and stripped of her martial soul. 37

Personality

Qian Xunji is arrogant, possessive, and cruel. He considers Spirit Hall's future dominance inevitable and dismisses rival factions as insignificant. 17 As Pope, he relies on Spirit Hall's overwhelming strength to intimidate guests and rivals. 18

His obsession with Bibi Dong repeatedly overrides his judgment. He initially treats her gentler behavior as sincere concern, allowing her to manipulate him into revealing Whale Glue's use in raising soul-ring absorption limits. 17 After her betrayal becomes undeniable, his attachment turns into vindictiveness and a desire to control her completely. 34

Although he is cold toward Qian Renxue's suffering and objects to Lin Mo potentially marrying her, he is proud of her unprecedented Six-Winged Angel talent and devoted to the Angel God's legacy. 2 4 25

As Pope, he orchestrates Spirit Hall's preparations for the gathering of major factions, demonstrating its extensive Titled Douluo and Angel Legion forces. Bibi Dong deceives him into disclosing that Whale Glue improves physical constitution and raises soul-ring absorption limits. 17

He later intimidates the visiting factions, coordinates with Qian Daoliu in displaying Spirit Hall's young talent, and supports Lin Mo's two-on-one match against Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun. 18 19 23

Conflict with Bibi Dong

After Bibi Dong attempts to kill Qian Renxue and Lin Mo, Qian Xunji is ordered to execute her but cannot abandon his obsession. He instead weaponizes Yu Xiaogang's safety to force her submission, then confines her and abolishes her martial soul. 34 37
