Background

The Obsidian Martial Arts Hall was one of the human martial arts halls established during the founding of the City of Light Chasing. By the time Lin Qi occupied it, the surrounding area had become the city’s abandoned district. The building remained large enough to provide shelter, but was dilapidated. 2

Its early player disciples repaired the interior while excavating an extensive underground maze beneath the hall. The interconnected tunnels, planted with Blood Essence Rice, became an improvised defensive network that could conceal occupants from attackers. 33

Lin Qi transformed the hall from a damaged refuge into a structured training organization by introducing contribution systems, disciple assessments, cultivation techniques, and automated skill testing. 34 40 44

Facilities and Services

Cultivation Facilities

  • Gravity Chambers — Used for body-tempering cultivation; disciples may access them with points or pay Energy Crystals. 219
  • Meditation Rooms — Facilities that improve mental activity and Insight, helping users comprehend difficult techniques. 321
  • Martial Arts Rooms and Training Rooms — Training spaces used to improve combat proficiency and cultivate martial skills. 350 351
  • Advanced Training Rooms — High-value facilities sought by Blood Condensation Realm experts and visiting trainees. 346
  • Special Training Rooms — Contain combat puppets capable of providing opponents with combat levels reaching the high level of the Realm of All Things. 389
  • Cultivation Tower — A major facility in Chiyue City; its completed Advanced form increased Azure Star’s energy purity. 395

Instruction and Curriculum

The hall sells and teaches martial arts ranging from Apprentice-level techniques to Limitless Tier Martial Skills. Its early offerings included the Star Explosion Meditation Technique and Lightning Palm, while later programs made high-level combat footage and advanced techniques available to trainees. 34 51 288 321

Membership is presented as similar to joining the Martial Artist Association: disciples may belong to other forces or work elsewhere as long as they do not become enemies of the hall. 322

  • Contribution system — Disciples earn contributions for status, rooms, techniques, and other resources. 40 51
  • Merit-based advancement — Martial Artist-level cultivation methods require substantial merit and full proficiency in the first level of the preceding method. 210
  • Public instruction — The hall accepts paying outsiders for martial arts instruction, including members of other gangs and races. 186
  • Elite instruction — It auctioned fifty training slots for Limitless Tier Martial Skills, each ultimately selling for 100,000 Energy Crystals. 300 301

Disciple Standards

  • Formal disciples earn points and contributions by completing hall-assigned tasks. 331
  • Core disciples are selected through a defined assessment process. 208
  • Garrison members hold status comparable to core disciples and protect hall operations. 300
  • True disciples are expected to know how to fly; this standard astonished visiting Bone Forging Realm experts. 217
  • In Chiyue City, applicants gain corresponding status by defeating arena defenders. 350

Organization and Territory

Crimson Moon Mountain and Crimson Moon Town

After the deathmatch against the White Feather Gang, the hall obtained 60% of Crimson Moon Mountain’s Energy Veins through a contract with the Green Sparrow Gang. 82

Crimson Moon Mountain developed into a transit market with more than five thousand nomads and smugglers. The hall later managed three thousand market stalls there. 90 130

The hall established Crimson Moon Town despite the political attention that building a new town attracted from the major cities. 203

Chiyue City

Chiyue City became the hall’s principal base. By the time Black Steel Heavy Industry visited, it was a mountain-built city with hundreds of tall buildings and tens of thousands of Flying Transport Vehicles. 350

By Chapter 378, Chiyue City had become the largest city in the Wushan Region aside from Mist Mountain Domain City. Its permanent population exceeded sixty million, and it was regarded as a City of Martial Artists open to anyone able to survive there. 378

Branch Dojos

The hall does not sell the core technology behind its cultivation facilities. Instead, it establishes branch dojos that retain Obsidian control over equipment operation and access. 321 322

  • Tianhe Domain City — Lin Qi sold equipment packages for a branch dojo while retaining operational control. 322
  • Frost Shelter — The hall formed an employment partnership to build dojos, construct facilities, and assist with the Shelter’s defense. 359
  • Crimson Demon Star — Crimson Demon permitted construction of an Obsidian branch hall in a first-class special land. 399
