As the fish-man's voice fell silent, Kashal, on the other end of the Den Den Mushi, was shaken. He had no idea what was happening. Could there be something in these waters capable of threatening fish-men?
"Hello? What the hell is going on? Explain it clearly!" Kashal spoke again quickly, his tone somewhat agitated. That fish-man had only called for help without providing any useful information, leaving him completely confused.
But the fish-man made no further sound.
Because after calling out to Kashal for help, Luo Ze had already sliced off his head with a single stroke.
Luo Ze's intention was simple: use that fish-man to lure Kashal into coming to the residential district himself. He could not be bothered to go to the palace to kill him.
So, once the fish-man had served his purpose, Luo Ze did not leave him alive. One slash was all it took to kill him.
He grabbed the Den Den Mushi's receiver with one hand and sent his voice through it.
"Kashal, right? I'm the pirate hunter, Killing Sword Luo Ze. This time, I've come to take your fish head. All your companions are dead by my hand. I'm waiting for you here in the residential district."
After saying that, Luo Ze felt that it was not quite enough. What if Kashal ran away after hearing his name? Then he would have to search for him across the vast sea again.
So he paused for a moment before adding, "Of course, if you're scared, you can run away. Heh heh, fish-men taste pretty good. Once I've eaten all your companions, I'll come take your fish head."
This time, Luo Ze hung up immediately.
He refused to believe that Kashal could still tuck his tail and run after being provoked like that.
And indeed, that was exactly what happened.
After hearing Luo Ze's words, veins bulged across Kashal's forehead. He slammed a palm into the wall, shattering the section beside him, and roared furiously, "Pirate hunter Killing Sword Luo Ze! I'll kill you!"
Kashal rushed straight out of the palace. He sent out orders for all the fish-men on the island to gather and advance toward the residential district.
Luo Ze had not only killed his companions, but had even said he would eat fish-men. That was something Kashal could never tolerate.
Elsewhere, the area where Luo Ze stood had become a sea of blood.
Even the Den Den Mushi from earlier had been split cleanly in two by Luo Ze's sword.
As for why he had cut down the Den Den Mushi, it was simply because its face looked too irritating. Luo Ze felt uncomfortable just looking at it.
Afterward, Luo Ze stood still and waited for Kashal to arrive.
The villagers did not look much better.
No one hated fish-men more deeply than they did. Luo Ze had helped them kill the fish-men, and they truly felt relieved.
But Luo Ze's methods were simply too brutal. The large pool of bright-red blood on the ground was horrifyingly gory. The organs spilling out of the corpses made people nauseous.
The villagers were not pirate hunters like Monya, who had fought and killed before. Most of them had never even killed a person. Faced with such a bloody scene, they felt violently sick and vomited. Some women with weaker nerves even fainted on the spot.
The village chief looked at Luo Ze with lingering fear. Thinking about how he had actually contradicted such a madman made his scalp tingle.
What incredible luck had he accumulated over several lifetimes? He had provoked a lunatic like this and somehow had not died!
He quietly walked over to Ake and asked in a low voice, "Ake, can your medicine cure that girl?"
Ake was a doctor, so he was slightly more resistant to such scenes, though his expression was still somewhat unpleasant. Hearing the village chief's question, he nodded slightly. "Don't worry. She'll definitely recover tomorrow."
He felt somewhat fortunate that he had not carelessly given Ellie any medicine.
"That's good! That's good!" The village chief finally let out a sigh of relief. They were safe at last.
The palace was not far from the residential district, and the fish-men all lived in the palace at night. Kashal only needed a little time to gather every fish-man together.
He explained what had happened to the fish-men. Every one of them was enraged, wishing they could grind Luo Ze's bones to dust.
Very soon, the fish-men arrived at the residential district.
Luo Ze smiled as he looked at the vast fish-man army ahead.
The fish-men had finally come. He had waited so long that he was starting to get impatient.
"So many fish-men!"
But unlike Luo Ze's calmness, the villagers were terrified.
They had not expected Kashal to mobilize his entire force just to deal with Luo Ze. There had to be at least a hundred fish-men in that massive group.
"Now I can kill to my heart's content." Luo Ze smiled as he pulled his longsword from a fish-man's corpse and strode toward the huge crowd of fish-men.
"Killing Sword Luo Ze, is that you? The idiot who said he'd eat fish-men?"
Seeing the miserable fish-man corpses scattered across the ground, Kashal's expression darkened. His voice was ice-cold as he spoke.
"Said I would? I've eaten fish-men before. Come to think of it, they were quite delicious—fish-man thighs, especially." Luo Ze looked at Kashal, a cruel smile appearing at the corner of his lips.
"Men, kill him!"
Kashal could no longer endure it. With a furious roar and a wave of his hand, the hundred-plus fish-men behind him charged savagely toward Luo Ze.
"Hmph! Sending your subordinates to die first? What a heartless captain." Luo Ze smiled mockingly and flicked his sword, sending several drops of crimson blood splashing onto the ground.
"Shave." He muttered to himself, stomping one foot onto the ground. A strange sound rang out, and he shot rapidly into the mass of fish-men.
"Killing Sword Form." Within the fish-man crowd, Luo Ze unleashed his technique and launched a frenzied assault upon them.
His attacks had no discernible pattern and were incomparably swift. Many fish-men could not keep up with his speed. A single slash from his sword turned them directly into corpses.
A few fish-men managed to evade Luo Ze's attacks, but they had no way to counterattack him. They could only defend passively again and again, until Luo Ze caught an opening and cut them down on the spot.
In the end, dozens of fish-men died beneath Luo Ze's sword.
Yet Luo Ze remained completely unscathed, and he only grew fiercer as the battle went on. The fish-men who had initially been able to dodge his moves merely felt his speed becoming faster and faster. Eventually, they could no longer hold out and were mercilessly slain by him as well.
"Fall back! Leave this man to me!"
Seeing his subordinates suffer such heavy losses, Kashal could no longer wait.
He had originally intended to use his men to test Luo Ze's abilities and find his weaknesses, so that he could gain an advantage when fighting him himself.
But he had never expected Luo Ze's moves to be so utterly unpredictable, nor for him to be so terrifyingly effective at killing fish-men. In just a few short seconds, more than half of the hundred-plus subordinates he had brought were already dead. If this continued, they would be completely wiped out.
Left with no choice, Kashal could only step in himself, his heart heavy.
