How long an Uchiha with the Sharingan could sustain Izanagi varied. The main factor was each person's visual power, followed by the caster's own ability.
"If I used Izanagi, I could probably keep it going for about five minutes." Indra made an estimate but did not try it.
Once the forces of life within his body were balanced, his visual power could slowly recover. But if he went blind all at once, there would be no room for recovery.
A living person could eat and drink well and recover from weakness. Once dead, though, no amount of food would bring them back.
Madara Uchiha regaining his visual power after going blind and awakening the Rinnegan was more like coming back from the dead. His case was an exception.
Indra had little confidence he could restore his eyes after going completely blind. That meant Izanagi
could only be used as a last resort.
Just then, Uchiha Mikoto opened the door and came home.
"Indra, you're home~" Mikoto looked a little surprised to see him there.
Indra laid out the Storage Scroll and teased, "If I weren't home, where else would I be?"
"At Kushina's or Eri's house. Maybe Konan's place, too~" Mikoto answered with such innocent sincerity that Indra felt distinctly guilty.
