He had been in this world for nine years now, five of them spent in Konoha.

Over those nine years, Chiyu had gone from excitement to resentment.

Just as those villagers who sneered at him said, Uchiha Clan blood flowed through his veins.

Yet Chiyu was not acknowledged by the Uchiha Clan.

To preserve the purity of their bloodline, the Uchiha Clan practiced marriage within the clan.

Chiyu's mother was forced to use the Sharingan, joining Chiyu's father in driving the beasts away.

But that was also when the seeds of disaster were planted.

Like hyenas that had caught the scent of prey, ninja came for Chiyu's mother one after another, seeking to seize her Sharingan.

In the brutal battle, Chiyu's father sacrificed himself to protect Chiyu and his mother.

Chiyu's mother was severely wounded as well. Forcing herself onward, she brought Chiyu to Konoha and begged Konoha to take him in.

Hiruzen Sarutobi agreed to Chiyu's mother's request. Although Chiyu's parents were rogue ninja, they had done nothing harmful to Konoha. Moreover, Chiyu carried the bloodlines of both the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan. He might awaken a Kekkei Genkai in the future, so he could not be allowed to remain outside Konoha.

And so, Chiyu remained in Konoha.

Hiruzen Sarutobi sent someone to bring Chiyu to the Uchiha Clan compound and asked whether they were willing to take him in and acknowledge his Uchiha identity.

But the Uchiha Clan refused to acknowledge Chiyu as Uchiha.

After arranging for Chiyu to stay in a dilapidated house, Konoha never cared about him again.

Chiyu did not actually mind that.

He understood the conflict between the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan very clearly. Since Senju Clan blood ran through his veins, it was only natural that the Uchiha Clan would not acknowledge him.

But at the time, Chiyu did not know that his parents had been Konoha's rogue ninja. He had thought that everything would get better once he arrived in Konoha.

Chiyu had naively believed that, as long as it had nothing to do with a Jinchuriki, Konoha's villagers should be fairly friendly.

Konoha was now a prison to Chiyu.

But Chiyu could not leave this prison.

Because Konoha would not let him leave, and even if Chiyu could escape Konoha, he had no strength to protect himself.

Although the current Konoha was utterly awful in Chiyu's eyes, he had to admit that it was the safest place for him.

Chiyu had great confidence that he could change this situation in the future.

His confidence did not come from his Uchiha Bloodline or Senju Bloodline.

With only half of each bloodline, Chiyu might never awaken the Sharingan or the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai in his lifetime.

Chiyu's reliance was a system called the Witness System.

As long as he witnessed events, he could obtain Witness Points.

But activating the system required 100 Witness Points as a prerequisite.
