The other man slowly rose to his feet. He stood a head taller than the man in black, his blood and vitality powerful. He was a formidable warrior who had tempered battle intent.
At those words, his eyes filled with fervor.
"Thank my god. So long as my people no longer suffer calamities, so long as my people no longer starve to death, so long as my people no longer suffer from disease, I am willing to serve Great Black Heaven for my entire life, as a servant or a slave."

He lowered his head and glanced at the young women who had brought the food. He noticed that aside from their sallow, emaciated faces, their skin was quite good. Given some more time, they would likely regain their youthful beauty.
