Appearance
Albis Mountain is an immense, gloomy range of successive peaks and long valleys. Its tallest summit is slightly above 3,000 meters, but its size—not its height—is its defining feature. 660
- Dense clouds and mist shroud the mountainsides, giving the range a fairyland-like appearance despite the constant cries of dangerous creatures. 660
- The interior contains steep stone peaks resembling swords thrust into the clouds, with broad valleys and sparse vegetation on the harsher slopes. 660
- The range spans more than 1,300 kilometers; roughly 600 kilometers of level land surround it. 1017
- Its western and southern plains have been developed, while the eastern region remains largely undeveloped. 754 1017
- A vast locust forest within the range was believed to house yin ghosts; Dole later encountered and spared a powerful yin-attributed creature there. 663 700
Resources
- Magic Crystal Mine veins — Seven veins are known. The Glory Wizard Alliance mines two, Bal occupies one, and five remained undeveloped. 850
- Minerals and stone — The range contains metal deposits, quarry stone, and other mineral resources; large quarrying operations supplied Albis City's construction. 687 737
- Medicinal herbs and magical plants — The mountains contain abundant herbs and plant life, helping establish Albis City as a major potion market. 289 901
- Timber and natural materials — Albis Mountain was recognized as containing timber, plants, and other exploitable wilderness resources. 687
- Arable land — Fertile lands extend for hundreds of kilometers around the mountain, supporting reclamation, farming, and future settlement. 660 742
History
Before Dole's Occupation
Albis Mountain was an adventurer destination and a dangerous Magic Beast territory. Caravans had to detour around it, adding nearly 1,000 kilometers and four to five days to their journeys. Its control promised access to fertile land and a route connecting northern regions. 660
The range held several high-level Magic Beasts. Initial reports identified three Level Seven creatures, but later intelligence indicated at least four Rank Sevens, alongside many lower-ranked beasts. 660 695
Conquest and Territorial Claim
Dole surveyed the range and determined that it could be enclosed by his Storm Domain. Bal entered first to provoke the resident Magic Beasts and expose their strength, while Dole and Aixi deployed insect and worm clones to investigate the mountains. 660
Bal's repeated clashes with Albis Mountain's lords devastated several peaks and prompted many Level Six Magic Beasts to flee toward the North Plains Mountain Range. 689 After the Level Seven defenders were killed, wounded, or driven away, Dole installed his wizard-tower complex in the heart of the range and began clearing the remaining beasts. 698 699
Wasen Fort publicly incorporated Albis Mountain and the land to the foothills of the North Plains Mountain Range into its territory the following day. 700
Development under Albis City
Albis City was planned about 50 kilometers west of Albis Mountain beside a river, with the Rhine Family and Aoun Family participating in its early development. 702 Dole established the Storm Domain over the mountain and positioned Babel Tower at its storm eye, making the range both a symbol and instrument of his authority. 703 753
Roads, quarries, farms, towns, and the Northwest Passage transformed the mountain from a major obstacle into a trade corridor. The completed route eliminated the former detour through much of Du City and Roderick City, connecting directly toward Montana Province. 701 737
Defenses
Storm Domain
Dole's Storm Domain surrounds and controls Albis Mountain. It automatically opens passages for authorized travelers, suppresses invading Magic Beasts, and allows Dole to monitor the surrounding territory through the storm itself. 703 731
- It drove away high-level Magic Beasts and made the mountain safe enough to attract settlers, merchants, and adventurers. 731 732
- Dole later planned to incorporate ice and snow elements into the domain after deepening his understanding of the Storm Meditation Method. 732
- The domain's scale and pressure deterred even high-level Magic Beasts from approaching the mountain foothills. 742
- By the time Dole reached Level Nine, he could alter rules within Albis Mountain itself, making surrounding powers wary of the territory. 1126
Wizard Tower Network
A cluster of eight wizard towers was established alongside Babel Tower and later supported by the Level Seven Li Fire Golden Tower. 703 718
- The towers form a defensive magic array and support the Glory Wizard Alliance's Albis branch. 703
- Earth Fortress serves as the network's main tower. 703
- The tower complex was deployed against repeated attacks by Level Seven Magic Beasts from the North Plains Mountain Range. 725 750
- Dole intended to upgrade all eight towers to Level Seven to expand their coverage over more of Albis Mountain. 754 921
Strategic Importance
- Trade route — Controlling the range opened a route between the Northwestern Province, Montana Province, and other northern regions. 660 701
- Northwest Passage — The passage became a protected commercial corridor and was formally opened after the human victory over Magic Beasts. 751 753
- Regional influence — Albis Mountain's development threatened Du City's trade routes, population, and economy. 692
- Natural barrier — The adjacent North Plains Mountain Range forms a boundary between nations and remains a source of powerful Magic Beast threats. 660 750
- Economic value — Control of the range brings revenues from mines, stone, herbs, trade, and land development; it was described as capable of earning tens of millions of magic crystals annually. 850 1075
Relationships
- Dole — Conqueror and undisputed master of Albis Mountain; he established its Storm Domain, wizard formations, and territorial administration. 699 1076
- Bal — Dole's Level Seven Hellhound companion; he scouted the range, fought its Magic Beast lords, and occupies one Magic Crystal Mine vein. 660 689 850
- Aixi — Assisted Dole's reconnaissance, managed development during his seclusion, and later handled City Lord's Manor affairs while he secluded himself again. 660 702 1252
- Albis City — The city built west of the mountain; it serves as the administrative, commercial, and population center of the territory. 702 755
- North Plains Mountain Range — The neighboring Magic Beast territory whose creatures repeatedly contested Albis Mountain and the Northwest Passage. 715 750
- Dragon Bat — A Level Seven Magic Beast associated with the North Plains Mountain Range; it repeatedly attempted to retake or destabilize the territory. 694 725 1076
- Rhine Family and Aoun Family — Early development partners that helped claim territory, build Albis City, and organize resource extraction. 702 737

Trivia
- Dole named his family the Albis Family after occupying Albis Mountain; its crest and banner bear a Hellhound. 921
- Albis City, Albis Academy, and Albis Mountain are treated as private holdings of the Albis Family. 921
- Despite its immense wealth and strategic value, Albis Mountain was initially considered too dangerous for even Prince George's forces to conquer because of its Level Seven Magic Beasts. 689
