This was Gabriel's signature technique, fused with at least five ninth-tier-or-higher rules, yet it had merely matched Dole blow for blow. This man was far too powerful. Just how much force did that bolt of lightning contain?
Layers upon layers of darkness rose around the two of them, wrapping the Wizard Tower tightly. A stream of power also split off from the Wizard Tower and joined the dark canopy, strengthening it.
What, evade? High-level Wizards possessed spiritual perception of one another. There was simply no escaping it. They could only rely on their own defensive and offensive witchcraft to decide the victor—or evade by relying on their own reactions in the instant before the attack arrived. The lightning sphere was incredibly fast, and Dole had struck first. Just as the dark canopy formed, the lightning sphere arrived.
The moment that lightning, carrying an aura of destroying and obliterating everything, drew near, the two felt as though the will of death had enveloped them. As it came closer and closer, they sensed its power, and their hearts turned cold. If either of them had faced Dole alone, this single bolt of lightning would probably have been more than they could bear.
