The middle-aged man pointed.
There were many shops on Profession Street, large and small. The one he pointed to was precisely the third-largest.
Dole immediately understood. Wherever there were people, there was the jianghu; wherever there was a market, there was competition. That was beyond doubt.
The middle-aged man then lowered his voice. "Since your goods are special, I'll take you to that one." He discreetly pointed again.
Dole glanced over, his expression unchanged.
That shop was called Evergreen Tree. Though its storefront was not large—rather, it was quite small—there was no shortage of people going in and out. Its height, however, surpassed the other shops by far, standing a full seven stories tall.
There's something to this place, Dole thought.
It was clear, however, that those entering and leaving were all mercenaries or adventurers, of every rank.
People streamed past the entrance of Evergreen Tree. Before long, someone noticed the middle-aged man, and a voice called out, "Old Agan, you've got a customer!"
The middle-aged man turned to glance at the person and gave a slight wave.
The two then entered the shop.
The moment Old Agan entered, he cast off his meek and submissive manner, becoming full of imposing presence. As soon as he went in, he beckoned. "Beard, come here."
A man with a face full of beard came out from inside. Upon seeing Old Agan, he immediately walked over, studying Dole as he approached. Who is this? Why have I never seen him before?
Dole was also looking around. There were quite a few people on the first floor, but all were below level three. He looked toward the stairway, raising his brows. It seemed the higher-level people were all upstairs.
Seeing Beard approach, he quietly waited.
When Beard came over, Old Agan waved his hand.
