Hairless Monsters

Daphne took a step back, the magic power around her slowly gathering. She gave a huff. "Aixi, I won't let you have your way."

Aixi shrugged and spread her hands. "Whatever. Yuno has already started."

The three women walked into the passage together.

Compared to the passages outside, the passage at the center of this world was enormous—enormous—and fraught with danger. Many of the glowing plants on the walls were extremely dangerous, so there was no need to fear being unable to find Magic Beasts to clear out.

Before long, they ran into the first troublesome wave of monsters: a group of immensely strong hairless creatures.

Dole continued forward along the passage. After only a few meters, a powerful surge of energy erupted from the dark tunnel and came roaring toward him.

Sensing the amount of energy in the fluctuation and making a quick calculation, Dole casually raised a hand. A dense current of wind followed the direction of the energy wave. His pace did not slow in the slightest, as leisurely as if he were strolling through a courtyard.

The wind current and the energy wave soon collided in midair. With a thunderous boom, they shattered into fine fragments of energy that scattered in every direction.

The energy waves quickly battered the surroundings, making the walls rumble, yet not a single fleck of wall surface fell away.

Dole continued onward. He blocked the second, third, and fourth waves of energy in the same manner, and soon caught sight of the culprit.

It was a purple plant clinging to the wall, much like ivy, bearing dark-red fruit. Those successive energy waves were in fact the power unleashed when the ivy's fruits exploded.
